If only the other LOTR games looked this good, eh?

The movie was fun, in a really silly action movie type way. I personally like cheesy, goofy, mindless entertainment every now and then. (Serious Sam anyone?)

That said, this game is gonna suck like no game has sucked in a while, I'd bet.

Man.. I really wanted a Baldur's Gate 3 (assuming they could do the story right.. picking up from the end of ToB does seem like a monumental task). I didn't like Baldur's Gate 1 much at all, but Baldur's Gate 2 is easily in my top three favorite games ever. Too bad the game had to be canceled because of licensing issues.. pushing that game out might have helped Black Isle stay alive. (Or maybe not, with idiots like Interplay in charge of them.)

I'm in the beta for this one, and find it to be rather "blah". It feels like Everquest with clunkier graphics and less to do in general.

Also, I don't know why, but seeing a guy playing a little tiny dragon sitting around town crafting bows for hours seemed really.. I dunno.. silly?

Huh. I always thought this was Gamecube only, but apparently it's going to every platform.
Here's hoping it's fun, I need a new platformer, and I'm kinda wary of the changes they've made for Jak II...

Cool. I was interested in this game, but unsure if I would actually enjoy it. Hooray for demos.

Just thought I'd say that I pretty much dislike all the World War 2 games, but I really enjoyed the hell out of the demo of this game. Anyone who didn't give it a shot just 'cause it looks like another "me too" game, give the demo a try. You might like it. I'm definately gonna get it.

I find the look change to be a bit wierd too, but think about this: Max Payne is supposed to be a gritty noir graphic novel type affair. I read comic books for a long time, and sometimes a new artist would take over the art for a series and draw the characters in a fairly different style.

Or hell, maybe he had plastic surgery. <shrug>

At any rate, I really liked Max Payne 1, so here's hoping 2 will be good.

I'm sorry for the loss you and your family have suffered, Blue. The though of losing either of my parents scares the bejesus out of me, so I can only imagine what you are going through.

Well, that is kinda different as well, since those are expansion packs and Pandora Tommorow isn't.

I seem to recall someone also stating that it is a side game type thing, and Splinter Cell 2 is a seperate entity which is also in developement. But I can't find where I read that :\

Deaths Shadow- You mean you won't play a game just because there isn't blood? Why not?

Btw, if you were referring to some other form of censorship, then sorry. I'm not too familiar with MoH games

the_culture: I wouldn't ever try to play Neverwinter Nights without some buddies. It doesn't feel at all to me like a game that should be played single player.

Hey Professional.. I think tron was talking about gameplay when he said boring simplicity. I mean, if he was discussing visuals, the part about micro-managing wouldn't make any sense at all.
(Also.. never say ALWAYS. Every rule has an exception, or if it doesn't yet, it will.)

I personally didn't find the Dungeon Siege engine to be that impressive.. it's easy to make a game seamless when it has weak graphics and very little work going on for actual gameplay.

Engines notwithstanding, I enjoyed the hell out of playing through it co-op with a bunch of friends. (Imagine, if you will, a bunch of nerds gathered with computers in a dank basement, playing through all of Dungeon Siege in two sittings... I miss all the free time I had in High School. I don't miss the dank basements though.)
I don't think I will EVER play Dungeon Siege again though.

I think the writing in Max Payne was just right- the cheesiness was the fun of it. I'm working on being able to spew out appropriate Max Payne style lines in conversation in real life.

I hope they don't miss the release date.

Sorry Creston.. I assumed you might be talking from current play experience, and currently the Planetside servers have nothing to do with voice over IP. My bad. Hopefully when they do make it all server side, their servers will be beefy enough. Note that X-Box live games don't seem to have any problems with all the voice chatter going on.

Frost- that was slightly insulting, implying I'm a cheapskate and all. Spending the monthly fee on the game wouldn't bother me a bit.. it's just, I think I'd rather spend my money on other things. As it is, I've played the game for a bout a month now and am starting to lose my drive to play it. If you enjoy it enough to pay for it, I'm glad.
