sorry, I didn't realize I was dealing with a message board that is comprised primarily of the worlds most self-righteous adult males that regularly get laid be women that are infinately more attractive than Carmen Electra and Pamula Anderson. My bad.

there's not a straight, single man here that would kick her out of bed. she certainly wouldn't be getting called a 2bit whore if it was your knob she was polishing instead of nevarro's.

at least they're actively trying to work the bugs out. if there were no patches released everyone would be up in arms.

I've not had any problems since the first version with it's horrid ladder bug. i'd get stuck on a ladders about a quarter of the time I used them.

i retract my last post. it was actually a driver issue causing my problem. the latest detonator driver fixed the game.

still, the game i played at lunch was laggier than hell even though my ping was around 60.

so far i've found the new DC release to be buggy. The only map I got to play on before coming to work this morning had wretched spawnkill problems. In addition some of the vehicles showed up as four tires and a steering wheel hovering in mid-air.

I played for about five minutes and then was killed by an explosion that sent windowsXP into a bluescreen and closed the application alltogether. The silenced M4 is killer, though.

.5 full install = ~500MB
.6 patch = ~300MB
BF1942 1.5 patch = 150MB
so far it's not worth the 2 gigs its taking up (install files and extracted files together)

the singleplayer game is mediocre (/edit - to be fair, I've only played the first 2 levels /edit). it would have been infinately better with tighter controls; mouselook and moving feels wobbly/sloppy to me. I'm also stuck in the second mission; I don't know where to go, so I quit playing it and instead got into RS3 for the xbox.

I wish i could comment on the multiplay; it looks like it could be pretty sweet with gigantic maps and vehicles, but I've yet to find a server that pings under the 700-1000 range. (i haven't looked very hard, i'll admit)

light drinking my toosh.

they say that moderate drinking is what causes brain shrinkage. moderate drinking being between 7 and 14 drinks per week. Light drinking (1-7 drinks per week) they did not really comment on

once you've installed it just hold down the 'p' button which allows the game to 'P'lay itself.

they deny it these days. but back during the times of indians and conquistedors, indians used not only black magic, but also assorted shades of violot magic, too.

the indian would win that fight. he'd use black magic to turn the troop's m16 into a cobra and then he'd curse the conquistedor with montezooma's revenge.

did I say "over" hype in my post anywhere? No. I said Hype. Period. IMO, hype is a bad thing in ANY quantity, and everyone is guilty of it: publishers, developers, mag editors, and even gamers themselves.

All I'm saying is that they waited 5 years to drop this on people, what does another six months matter? ESPECIALLY if there is any chance what-so-ever that it is not going to make the proposed release date and piss off impatient fanboys.

This wouldn't be a big deal if it wasn't valve. Valve is the developer of one of the most loved PC titles of all time, and the title in question is its sequal. Everything they do at this point is a big deal, like it or not.

Valve could have announced HL2 a week before it hit shelves and people's blood would still boil for it, it would still sell like hotcakes, and blissful happiness would ensue... but at least then a hacker wouldn't have time to set up shop and ruin a perfectly good thing for everyone. That's all I'm saying.

DON'T FRIGGIN HYPE GAMES. If valve would have waited to announce HL2 until the game had gone gold, I doubt any of this would have happened. not only that, they also wouldn't have pissed off their fans with the whole sept 30th line of BS.
