There seems to be a rather annoying bug with folks running 64-bit flavors of Win7 and Vista, with the game freezing for 5-6 seconds randomly. Very annoying, and pretty much lethal in multiplayer.

How that got past Q&A I'll never guess.

Remedy doesn't know how Alan Wake will end.

Gee, I'm crushed that this won't be coming out for the PC.

why keep spending on QA, and support for a targert device that has many flavors which makes it harder and cost more, when 80% of the people you are building the game for are going to steal it.

I'll make sure I'll relay that concern to my brother, who's library for his Xbox 360 is mostly pirated copies that he plays on a modded console. He thinks I'm an idiot for paying for my games for the PC.

I'm starting to wonder if he's right.

Why does everyone assume that since the original developer tanked that the IP is dead?

Very good point, XM-S. Now that you mention it, it is probably safe to assume the IP has been transferred to another development team.

Maybe we'll see Call Of Duty: Duke Nukem in the future?

I am highly pessimistic about this. Guess I'm holding something of a grudge... I bought "Battlecruiser 3000AD" back when it was released by Take Two, and I was highly disappointed.

That being said, if Derek can actually pull it off, I'll give it a shot. I'm certainly not holding my breath.

...not to get onto the "Bill Roper = Teh Devil" bandwagon here, but, seriously, who didn't see this coming?

That being said, I've been in the beta and I've been having fun with it. Certainly not the next WoW, but still an enjoyable time. I'm seriously considering buying a 6-month subscription.

Well, I was thinking about getting a 6-month subscription. I had no idea that "they were running out". I never got an e-mail or message to that effect. Nor did I have any idea they were limited.

Eh, thanks to Cryptic for making the decision for me. I'll most likely be better off.

Agreed. It's a fiasco. Between making those who aren't FilePlanet subscribers wait 45 minutes just to start downloading the beta client (twice if you downloaded the outdated .5 client first!), the .6 client is still broken, as is the patcher (I've lost count the amount of times it stalled... usually only .5 MB in!). This is all compounded by the fact there has been NOTHING from Cryptic in the forums except a 8-hour old message saying "Oh, it's fixed, have fun!" followed by 110 pages of people saying "No, it's still broken." This really shakes my faith in this game.

And they have to gall to try to sell you a lifetime subscription at this point.

Update: Stalled at 2970KB. (/sigh)
