Yeah Jerykk! Your motivation in the play can be:

Piracy is 100% harmless and companies only use it as a PR strawman to distract shareholders from their poor business decisions!

Keep it coming, this is totally writing itself.

Yeah Prez! You can be in my play, and your motivation can be:

Pirates are really better people and anyone who says otherwise is a self-righteous jerk, plus I only use pirated stuff as free trials and always buy it anyway if it is "good."

This thread is comedy gold! Someone should write it into a play about schizophrenic teenagers speculating on how Big Business is Evil and Why Piracy is OK and Really the Fault of Corporations Anyway.

You could call it 'Pirasites' in honor of the leeches

I can see why so many companies are pulling out of the PC market with people like you constantly defending the moochers/pirates. You must feel real big in your grandma's basement mocking this company for having an early build leaked. You know most of the time these leaks don't happen internally, it happens from: press, demo machines, external QA, DVD manufacturers, and others. Besides how could you stop a disgruntles employee (or QA?) from nabbing a build?

I have no sympathy for you trolls and it is because of people like you that the PC games market is so dry compared to consoles.

FYI SCII was cracked the next day and so is WoW. And another FYI, I don't buy your argument. That's all.

Oh so you can play a cracked version of SC2 on bnet? You can play a cracked wow with millions of other ppl on official servers?

Nope. The game you are playing with your crack is a shadow of the real experience.

I like how you guys say 'learn to live with the pirates' and then point to Blizzard as a guide to being successful on PC. Did you notice that both WoW and SC2 (their latest games) are practically impossible to pirate and have incredibly intrusive DRM that works pretty much the same as Ubisoft's in-your-face DRM? Have you noticed that PS3 is *still* uncrackable but requires 10 min long updates every week? Notice how you can't let a friends borrow that game you bought on Steam?

Welcome to the future of gaming. The ignorant, apologetic attitude you and people like you have towards piracy has helped bring this on us, and it won't be going away. Ever. Grats.

UGO definitely got the short end of this stick. 1up reviewers seem to range from illiterate to hateful, with most falling somewhere in between, and nearly all uninformed and unprofessional.

Sorry to hear more people are out of work in these times, but on the plus side: student loans can be had at great rates, so maybe those 'writers' can take a step back and actually learn what real journalism is all about

I heard it through the grapevine that the theme is actually a Tweaker remix of Tool's song "The Grudge" from the album Lateralus.

I looked all over that damn website, and there wasn't one mention of Kunta Kinte. I couldn't find Corris on a map of Africa either.

I don't agree with #1 at all. Modern games are so large that good developers have little choice but to use formal standards as they apply. The problem is that game development is different than traditional development that facilitates extensive unit testing...game development is more strongly iterative, and testing is not a boolean process, but rather a subjective process... ie. it is closer to GUI testing (which if you have ever tried to write unit tests for, is largely a shot in the dark). Also, not all games are OO, which is the foundation for most modern SE practicum.

#2 I disagree with even more strongly. I would like to see you try to develop a 3D game without creating diagrams similar to one of Blow's. Like Chris Crawford predicted, the best Game Designers are the artists who are trained in modern CS practicum. The rarity of these individuals is one reason why truly great games are so few and far between.

64-bit refers to the word size, not just the instruction length. The benchmarks are definately worth noting, as most all software released in the next year or so will be compiled into 32-bit code. I wouldn't think the problem is with the drivers, so much as with the compilers and the general bandwidth waste (64-bit characters anyone?).

It might have worked for them if they had just called it "Myst Online." No one I know who played Myst would look twice at a game called Uru.

When I saw it the whole theater cracked up about 6 or 7 times at the awful dialog. I didn't have high expectations at all, but somehow I was still let down.

Well its the cheesy cartoon style pizza power theme, unfortunately. The game looks good though, running very smoothly on my rig (athlon 2100 + radeon 8500). Lots of moves and combos but the accompanying voice samples get annoying fast. It is an old school beat-em up with 3 attack buttons, a jump button, and a dash button. The dash button is very cool and very fast...the bosses pretty much force you to use it, so it makes the game a lot more fast-paced than other games like this.

5. Pack mentality: We found many users in our forums being quite vocal about the game's alleged performance issues before the game was released. In every case we investigated users were mirroring allegations they'd heard about or seen written about in other forums - despite not having played the game themselves. They were enjoying the kind of fun you get when there's a bandwagon trolling going on.

Looks like it has spilled over into blues forums. I guess that is expected given the resident troll population!
