Wait, wait, COUNTER-STRIKE will be the only shipped multiplayer mode of HL2? Mother fucking CS? I cna't believe that. That lowers the value of the game for me by $30 at least. I need some evidence to accept that. Link, please?

Also, the $80 price tag is fucking robbery, but what the hell can you expect from those Vivendi Universal bastards? Pulling this kind of crap is not unexpected from VU. I swear, the company is single-handedly destroying the game industry.

God dammit...

Hollywood, fuck, the entire film industry for that matter, needs to keep its filthy fucking hooks out of the game industry.

What idiotic company is willing to fund such a piece of shit game? Christ, this does not bode well for the future.

Derek Smart is not just delusional, he has a serious mental instability. I'm not even joking. He obviously suffers from some form of egomaniac/megalomania. Look at his behavior, that's all the proof you need. He proposes an idea that 90% of gamers instantly hates, due to the fact that everyone knows he has no talent from his horrible, buggy, piece of crap Battlecruiser games, yet refuses to accept the negative critism that everyone dumps on him, then FLAMES those very same people with insulting rants and threats of legal action. ANY negative response to his ideas is responded with vieled insults.

The man is fucking nuts, and he MUST NOT be allowed to work with the Freespace license.

I know for a fact that lots of members of my fellow members of the game industry read Bluesnews, so I'm formally PLEADING with anyone out there, Microsoft, Vivendi, Ubi-Soft, ANYONE that has the revenue : Buy the Freespace license from Interplay before that idiot Smart can get his filthy hand on it, PLEASE. Save the franchise before Smart can bury it in the sands of failure.

PLEASE.

I bought the first game as well after being very impressed with the demo.

I really enjoy how the put it together, but it weas clearly a space-based StarCraft Clone. There was a Terran, Protoss, and Zerg equivalent species, and despite the fact that one of their primary points of sale was the inclusion of three races to play as, only the Humans had an actual campaign. That part was extremely sucky. Other than that, it was a quality title. I recently saw it in CompUSA for $10 new.

I'll look forward to this one.

Ugh, it pisses me off to no end when a company makes idiotic statements in their press releases.

"Imperial Glory promises to be the most extensive strategy game ever."

Ever? Don't say shit you can't back up, you fucking idiots. FUCK YOU, EIDOS!

I have to say that I've enjoyed Far Cry a great deal, but I've not seen ANYTHING in this game so far that even comes close to being offensive. (ok, so one dude used the f-word . . .) \

Offensive content isn't what the Germans worry about, its violence. They are fully aware of their own people's ignorant ability to be riled up into a force of raging facist warmongers, so they closely monitor all ingoing media to limit the effects of Nazism cropping up in the current generation.

It gets so ridiculous it hurts. I was testing Star Trek : Hidden Evil at Activision back in 99', and I was instructed by my suprvisor to play through the German build around 5 times through, looking for any possible swastikas, or anything that might look like a swastika in anyway.

The German government is well aware of its horrible past, so they take extreme and ridiculous steps to make sure They arn't responsible for another World War.

Too bad the game is a piece of shit. I LOVED the first, it was awesome. And apparently these people were working on this sequel since the first was completed? Someone tell me, why did it take around 5 years to push out this lump of afterbirth? It clearly doesn't show 5 years worth of development in the title.

Yeah, this multiplay feature is fucking excellent. Now I'm actually happy I spent the $50 for the game in the first place. All my friends laughed at me. HAH! Now I laugh at them! HAH HAH!

Aaaaaaanyway. Best Multiplay patch ever. Uh, aside from the COOP patch for System Shock 2. Nothing can top that.

TOOK YOU FUCKING LONG ENOUGH TO ANNOUNCE IT, VALVE.

Jesus Christ.

I guess this just means I'll have more time to secure enough cash for whatever is the most powerful vid card at the time of its release.

Can anyone say "System Shock" ?

I can!!!

System Shock

What did I win?

Seriously, I think any game should be rightfully entitled to take ideas from System Shock and incorporate them, as it can only lead to a better game. System Shock still reigns supreme where mood and sheer creepiness are concerned.

Meh, System Shock 3 done with the Doom3 Engine or the Source Engine would have excited me more than just Doom3.

Blue, you have my sympathies. I know what its like to lose a family member to cancer. It irks me constantly that we're in the 21 century now and we still haven't cured it.

However, I was wondering if this would work :

There's a link on "The Breast Cancer Site" in which visitors click once a day and help fund free mammograms, perhaps it would be a nice gesture to put the link at the bottom or top of Blue's News? With a little encouragement, you could get lots of people to contribute daily. All it takes is a single click.

Just a thought.

1. Oh my god, Microsoft have got to be off their fucking rockers to let HALO PC hit stores on Sept 30. Are they fucking idiots? Hear that Microsoft? You're IDIOTS. And the reason I say that is because I know for a fact that individuals from Microsoft check BluesNews daily.

2. No COOP, yet. Gearbox has said they'll probably add COOP in a later patch. Which is honestly really stupid, sicne one of the best aspects of the game was COOP Play. Muliplayer Coop would have been an amazing experience in Halo PC.

3. The only reason to buy this thing is for Multiplayer, thats it. For those that have the leaked beta, you know what I'm talking about. Singleplayer is the exact same boring crap. Multiplay is a joy. Yay!

But you can bet your asses I'm not shelling out my $50 on Sept 30th for THIS piece of shit when my copy of Half Life 2 is released on the exact same day. Stupid move, MS, stupid stupid stupid.

I wouldn't be surprised if the demo release is in some way related to the comments that stupid little prick from Sierra made on the Relic forums. Perhaps not directly related, but in some way, at least.

Good, I can't wait.

Download the ragdoll physics video for STALKER. It looks like GSC sort of spoofed the Valve guys by making a human Pachinko machine. it's shaky-cam with no sound but it's still impressive as hell.

The vehicle demo is only so-so.

It should be known that Valve didn't develop the physics for the Source engine, that was done by another company.

Anyay, I'm downloading the Stalker film now, ya'll should probably check out the B&W2 video, really some amazing character animations, textures and effects in there. I really need to build a new system..

Yeah uh, the the PC version's been floating around on bittorent for quite a while now.

Lemme tell ya somethin, the singleplay is fun, but the multiplay sucks ASS. ITS A FUCKING CONSOLE PORT. You know what that means? Split screen multiplay, and thats ALL.

If they had actually gone to the effort of including internet multiplay in the PC version, it might actually be worth something, but they didn't, so its not.

Don't waste your cash on this one, folks..

But IG3 wasn't a homeworld clone at all. You didn't have a centralized construction building or analogous source for your ships. Combat was entered with a specific number of ships, and you had to take individual control of those ships shield, weaponry, repair systems etc. You had to choose which weapons to use determined by the range from the target, you had to manage the output of your shield systems, etc. It wasn't a HW clone in the least.

WOAH Woah WOAH!

Homeworld was fucking excellent, Cataclysm was more of the same, and HW2 looks to be a triumph of free-spirited engineering! It will most definetely not be lame. I'm extremely happy HW2 is coming, because it helps to heal the open headwound caused by IG3's cancellation.

This really fucking sucks, I was seriously looking forward to IG3. The game was the closest interactive form I've ever seen of the type of space combat that Larry Niven, David Weber, and Peter F. Hamilton write about in their novels. GOD DAMN IT!

This puts a damper on my whole fucking day..:(

Crystal Dynamics was responsible for the 3DO port of Star Control 2. That's the only thing I know them for...

Which makes them A-OK in my book. Especially since that 3DO port is now available as a free PC game from ToysForBob.
