My opinions are facts.

If you consider the implications, that's probably the most profound statement you've ever read.

Think about it, I'm sure you'll agree. Becuase I say so.

IT'S A PARADOX

You're an absolute moron to want crappy SG1 vs no SG1, better that SG1 be remembered for the good series that it WAS, not for the crapfest that its rapidly heading towards. The fact that you're apparently worried more about having *something* to watch over something *good* to watch is just sad really. you want crappy television? watch your average non-cable network show. That should more than satisfy you.

Well, I recognize your opinion, beligerant as it may be.

But, you're wrong.

There are only a handful of syndicated science fiction shows actually worth watching, and Stargare (both of them) is no exception. Sure SG-1 has gone to hell, but crappy SG-1 is better than no SG-1, because 1) as long as SG-1 exists there can be crossovers into Atlantis, and 2)Aside from Battlestar Galactica, there's not much on to replace it in the realm of true science fiction. I love SG-1 and Atlantis, despite their shortcomings, and as long as they air, I have something to watch that i'll enjoy more than not.

As far as the game goes, this sucks balls, but the least they could do is release what they've got to the public so that possibly fans with the skills could complete what was left. They won't make any more money on this fucking game, so release it to the fans and let us play what was made. I played this at E3, and it was a blast.

Bioshock is the spiritual successor to System Shock 3. Since those EA bastards own the rights to the System Shock franchise, and since it seems they have no real plans to use it (other than the recent announcement of a SS3 title, which maybe only be speculation), Irrational decided to produce a new game in the same vein as SS2, which is a GREAT thing, since System Shock 2 is the best game that's ever been made.

I just hope Take-Two doesn't fuck with the development of the title now that they own Irrational.

AW MAN.

God damn it, don't post the Best Buy launch allocations! Jesus fucking christ, if you post that kind of thing the few people who actually KNOW WHERE TO LOOK FOR IT won't actually get to enjoy the benefit of, you know, knowing where to look for it! Christ, now every 13 year old little bastard in the city with $500 to blow is gonna be lining up at my local Best Buy.

Not that they, you know, wouldn't do that anyway.

Can anyone explain why Uwe Boll keeps picking shitty and obscure games to make movies out of? Seriously, instead of fucking house of the dead and alone in the dark, how about a metal gear or ninja gaiden movie? Not that I would want that to happen, but what exactly is his reasoning to picking not well known games to make movies of?

The fact that you consider Alone in the Dark shitty and obscure is sad, and that's the only word for it. Not sad pathetic, but sad sad. Alone in the Dark was the first survival horror game ever made, and its one of the best in the genre. It had amazing 3D visuals and gameplay, and incorporated Lovecraftian mythos that made for a frightening and freaky experience. It was and still is an awesome game. The fact that you don't know anything about it is just a sad thing, because it means the games of the Golden Age of the industry are falling into obscurity, and entire generations will never experience them.

Vince Desi is a slime bucket, I have to say. The man acts like a used car salesman. HOWEVER, he's absolutely correct in this case, a complete fuckup of a director like Uwe Boll is the perfect talentless hack to direct movie based on a complete fuckup of a game like POSTAL.

My mind is constantly torn asunder trying to understand how a two-bit company like Running with Scissors can stay afloat after releasing POSTAL in 1998 to low sales, and then the even more horrible POSTAL 2 seven years later to even worse sales! How can such a shitty company stay afloat when founders of the industry like Origin and Looking Glass and Dynamix are struck dead and shut down due to corporate takeovers? It doesn't make any fucking sense.

RWS is a detriment to the entire industry.

This is an absolutely brilliant idea. Armada was an awesome game, and of EvStream can compound that awesomeness into a MMO game with similar gameplay, I will definitely be playing it.

I just hope EvStream will try and pull an "ArenaNet" out of their butt and go with a "no subscription" based game.

I hope Nintendo doesn't use this crap to launch a series of frivolous lawsuits against any game developer that has a character go "berzerk" in some way, or any other change in mental state.

Would I be far off the mark to compare Derek Smart with Uwe Boll?

They both continue to turn out crap title after crap title after crap title, which all recieve horrible reviews as they so justly deserve, and the guys don't fucking listen. The world is SCREAMING AT THEM to just stop. Fade into obscurity, and your horrible crimes against humanity will fade with you. It'll take about 50 years, but eventually we'll forget!

FADE AWAY, DAMN YOU! FOR THE GOOD OF HUMANITY. I'm not fucking joking.

Crossing media has always been risky (since most turn out to be shit)

And most video game movies turn out to be shit because UWE BOLL is directing them.

Can't someone throw that fucker in jail for crimes against humanity or some shit? I mean, he serves worse for the crap he's unleashed upon the world.

How the fuck does shit like this recieve funding?

I keep asking myself this as the game industry progressively becomes more and more like the movie industry, and that's a bad thing. The original game was fucking horrible, I can't believe it made enough to warrant a sequel, and even then you would (hopefully) expect someone with good taste and COMMON FUCKING SENSE to put the so called "brakes" the on the thing before it even began the conceptual stage.

I lament for the future of the industry.

Derek Smart does not makes games that "Blow you Away".

Smart makes games that are not fun, have no interesting gameplay, are not innovative, and have the same production values as a home-movie of a couple of rabits fucking each other. He simply boasts that his game will "Blow you away". But surprise surprise, every game he's ever released has been a complete fuck up.

WAHAHAHA...first post on what is sure to have a lot of comments. Why do people hate Derek Smart so much again? Oh, thats right, because his games are terrible.

It's not only that his games are terrible, but he does not accept the fact that his games are terrible. He's arrogant (about what I can't even imagine), he's pompous, he's annoying, he's obnoxious, and he keeps defending his position even though he has no real position to defend. He sucks. The majority of the us (in the industry) and consumers KNOW he sucks, but he just won't go away. For the love of zombie jesus, the douche has

"The man who follows the crowd will usually get no further than the crowd. The man who walks alone is likely to find himself in places no one has ever been."

as his personal quote on his blog! He sees himself as a visionary, when in fact he's a failure.

I can only imagine what the 10 or 20 ignorant and/or retarded people that actually buy this latest version of UCPOS will make of it.

That's all I'm gonna say. There's a good chance my comment will initiate a flame war (heh heh heh), so I won't bother to post in this thread anymore. Smart is a douchebag.

Bye!

Maybe all the Unreal 3 engine footage is just a rendered cgi movie footage and that engine can`t really do those visuals ingame????

Well, since we've seen in-game footage of UT2K7 and Gears of War, its safe to say that those games actually look as they do. There is a huge difference between gameplay footage and a pre-rendered cutscene. HUGE. Killzone 2, for example. Anyone that couldn't recognize it was a pre-rendered cutscene from the first 5 seconds of footage is, frankly, an idiot.

Now I watched the vid of this too, and those few seconds of what was supposedly "gameplay" actually just looked like a pre-rendered cutscene with some crosshairs dropped on the center of the screen with Aftereffects.

If I'm wrong, I will be wrong with a smile on my face, because if that is in-game footage, its fucking amazing. But at this junction the differences between in-game and pre-rendered footage are too different and obvious to convince me that it was real-time, in game material.
