Blue, seriously, it would probably save lots of space on your page if you and your boys didn't report patch updates for EVE. They patch the game every day. Nobody cares about patch updates for eve except for those playing it, and I hear thats only around 5000 people or so. I doubt even half of those people check bluesnews all that often. Anyway, just tryin to save you time and labor.

Nope 3D Realms can't make an annual appearance of DNF until they remake the game for the 9th time using the latest engine. So that means after Half-Life 2 is released we'll probably see a couple screenshots of level geometry from DNF built with the Source Engine. and a year after THAT, they'll show up at E3 again.

As I said in the first post earlier today, the game needs 6 more months of testing, and that's at a minimum. Simon and Shuster or whomever decided to ship it this early are idiots.

The point that this game is being released ISN'T that its boring. The POINT is that EVE needs at LEAST 6 more months of testing. The game is wriddled with bugs. covered in them, swarming with them. And whats more, every major patch they release either disables one of the fundamentally important aspects of the game or just COMPOUNDS the problems people are already having. The launch of EVE is going to be 10X worse than that of Anarchy Online. CCP, or more likely their lawyers, are a bunch of fucking idiots for launching it now.

While I hate the hell out of time limits as well, its not really so much to worry about, because Whiptail will learn their fuckin lesson when a patch is released in a day or two that will completely over-ride the timelimit. Same thing happened with the original GTA, I see no reason why some poor bastard with too much free time on their hands won't crack this one too.

I was very impressed with the graphical capability of the engine, via the demo. the Game itself was pretty damn tough and most of the ships seem to control themselves.

I'm not sure if I would purchase the full game, seeing as the previously released demo had quite limited gameplay. more content to screw around with would be nice.

And lets hope they cleaned up the shitty-ass netcode, made the proper adjustments to the sound, and generally fixed every fuckin thing that was wrong with it since the demo was released.

"Err, you are both narrowminded.

I havent seen the map yet but i guess its placed on some kind of docks.

Embarcadero in spanish means wharf."

Obviously, yet the game is supposed to take place primarily in a post Apocalytpic Future, no? I would see the application of a popular shopping area turned to rubble more practical then naming a busted up area an Embarcadero when they simply could have said "Wharf"

"naming one of the demo levels after a software company.

www.embarcadero.com"

You know what? The Embarcadero is a popular shopping area in downtown San Francisco.

Its far more likely that the map is supposed to be somehow linked to the ACTUAL Embarcadero area.

christ.

Eh, the only reason FPS today have so many advanced features etc etc is BECAUSE of Half-Life. HL changed the whole fucking genre. And after Half Life was released, anything that didn't measure up in storytelling, scripting, or overall gameplay was knocked down with low reviews.

Technically, Starsiege was actually the THIRD game in the "Starsiege" series.

Don't forget the first two Earthsiege games, which occured in time around 400 or 500 years or 1000 years previously to the events in Starsiege. While the game was fun for a while, it was most definetly not as good as Tribes.

I tested both games when they were in their closed betas, and everyone always had more fun playin Tribes. Besides that, they're two different genres.

I'm utterly baffled by how all you people can criticise a movie NONE of you have seen yet. You're basing your opinions on the fucking trailer, and all that shows is action sequences. WHy don't you all wait to see the actual movie before you become so beligerant.

Nevertheless, the game will probably suck ass, because just about all games made from movies do.

From reports of my friends that have been testing the beta, it runs smooth on a 512DSL line with at least a hundred people onscreen at once.

Course, they could be lying, but I don't see why they would..

Thanks for your help guys, I'm still debating wether I'm gonna attempt this fix or not. Surely the problem doesn't occur on more up to date sound cards? I think my SB Live! Is quite old enough, I should probably just get an Audigy2 and be done with it..
