Uhm... you mean, under attack while they were occupying a part of the world that didn't belong to them? Just like you're now apparently counting 14,000 attacks as "jihadist" even though almost all of them are based on people trying to fend off foreign occupation (in Iraq and Afghanistan)? Occupation that was conducted in clear violation of international war and just war principles and has cost hundreds of thousands of innocent civilian lives? Come on.
