I know you said "if", but a leak has nothing to do with the status of the game, I believe, to assume as much is ignorant. I'm not trying to put anyone down, but it was stolen off a computer, who knows what version they got. And someone had to put it togethor. You could tell it wasn't right because a lot of the screens didn't even measure up to the official videos, parts were missing and such.

I don't know what delayed it, but you can't say the game is the same status as the leak. What if the Doom3 Alpha, the one a year ago, didn't get leaked till just now, would you also say that's how far that game is too?

When something is leaked, it doesn't mean it was what they were working on yesterday. And if it was, they might not have bothered to compile the whole game, only the parts they need for what they were doing. But I have no idea how stuff is done.

The jump jet I guess is good for clearing the laser fences. Or railings, like right where vehicles start to that door, instead of having to go around. There are ledges that you can only get to with the jet, like in the artifact room.

I should give this demo a try too. I once got to play around with The Dig on a cousin's PC, but I never really got to play it. I loved Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis.

I also find the vehicles hard to control, forget about trying to ram someone unless they aren't looking. Besides Halo being good at vehicels, BF1942 also has a nice feel to driving.

They should also allow the bodies to be destroyed. Sort of how it was in RTCW, you could get shot down, and revived, but hit by and explosion, say goodbye, even when down.

This game is making me think of Planetside. I just saw today they have a free 30 day trial by download, and you only have to pay the monthly fee if you want to continue, no charge for the actual game. But most likely I'd be board of it in 30 days, but it being free, I might give it a shot again.

Back to XMP, there is larger font settings for the chat and kill messages, plus lowering the resolution makes the bigger too.

Just tried it and still a little disoriented with the depth compared to deathmatch. Though, part of the disorientation is how the game feels a little shaky, how the vehicles move, aiming turrents, close combat, something makes it feel odd, like it's all hollow and weightless.

Kind of reminds me how that first Breed demo felt, not talking about the gameplay, as this XMP seems pretty good. Wonder how my UT2004 will take after it.

I aslo agree about the kill notification. Sometimes you can't tell when to stop firing, especially from a distance when the bodies still move when down. The got the chat done right with good notification, unlike in Halo, where there is no sound and could be gone when four kills instantly move it off screen.

Was it MacWorld when they first showed it? Well, that was the first time I saw it. I watched the video where they introduced someone from ID showing how great this new Geforce3 will make gaming and began to show some Doom3 tech on a Mac.

Sounded like it was a year away and the Geforce 3 card was the thing to get and that it would run at 40fps on it, which they said was ok since it isn't a twitch game like Quake.

I was just getting into PC gaming then as my new job made it so that I could get the latest tech. I had no idea then that games can get delayed so much.

I saved one of those 4000*3000 images, but not on this computer though. They were not from the leaked alpha. One showed several spiders outside by an entrance.

Check out this clip of the original, might bring back some memories, and a damn cool chase and wreck to see anyway. I saved it on tape when the original came out and just recently captured it.

(You'll have to copy and paste the link)

http://f1.pg.briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/timothyb@sbcglobal.net/lst?.dir=/Videos&.order=&.view=l&.src=bc&.done=http%3a//f1.pg.briefcase.yahoo.com/

At the end of the first main chase the game wouldn't let me place anymore cameras, I guess I reached the limit. Also in the first chase, that was the only time I encountered a road block that size on the freeway, they always left the middle open to go through, not that time.

I loved director mode in that game, I spent more time in it than the actual gameplay. To any fans you should probably dl it, 15megs, Divx, 3 and half minutes.

If you want to talk about doing a mission over and over, talk about Stuntman, for the PS2. I think I spents hours on one stunt.

I'm confused about this message about it just shipping. Mainly because a weekend ago BestBuy's ad had it for 24.99 and an instant $20 off when you purchase the 3rd Season DVD set with hit. Well, that promotion is over now because of the new ad this last Sunday. So it must have been out, otherwise it was stupid to run a week special for a game that wasn't out.

RealMyst is a 3D version of the original, but they did add a new age for it. Also, compared to RealMyst, URU was designed for 3D exploration in mind, while RealMyst might not have translated as well. There is a demo of RealMyst out there.

Myst Masterpiece? Haven't heard of it, but there will be a 10th Anniversary DVD Boxed set with I think the first three.

I found the demo great. I haven't messed with the controls, just kept them on default. It took a little getting use to looking around in firstperson. Also it's quite easy to turn and move in the direction you want.

At first when you click on and hold on a bridge to the left, it almost looks like you will keep turning because the curser stays on the left, but it actually stops where you clicked and moves forward onto the bridge.

I found the detail of the desert great, you could see forever and the plants were as plentyfull as right upto your feet. The shadows are quite cool too.

My favorite part too is the sound, with 5.1, it just drew you into the world even more.

Looks like it's got some physics with the boards here and there, wonder if they use it in some puzzles, the physics.

I finished Myst and loved it. I was also into graphics then. It was great looking at what they did on a Mac on their own. I still have my journal with drawing and writings.

Riven, I never really finished it, lost interest and then forgot what I was doing.

MystIII, I was enjoying that, but again I put it down for a while too long when other games came out.

Myst3D, why are you guys calling it that, I thought it was called RealMyst. It was also supposed to have a new age included.

Though, with this new game, it was designed for 3D, while converting the original probably made it more confusing to find things, unless you played the first one.

What is this, looks like a console game thing. Just because it seems not to match upto pc games in options and features you call it a console game as if they are inferior. Look at Grand Turismo, it's a console game, but it's top notch and I wish we had it on pc.

Yeah, I know what you mean by bad drivers just bumping off things at sharp turns and still winning because they're invincible.

Reminds me of when I tried 2 player in Grand Turismo. It really pissed me off. I'm taking the course seriously and at sharp turns I'd slow down to make it, but the 2nd player goes into the turn full speed useing me as a wall to slow himself down while I'm knocked off the course and he gets a clean getaway. Not very realistic if you ask me.

If the game did have damaging, we'd both be totaled and the race would be over, so then he wouldn't bother anymore. I'm guessing the same will happen with online racing in games like this.

Look at Pro Race Car Driver, that had Supras and other cars and it had very realistic damaging. Read that they did crash testing with cheap cars to study and everything. Though, in the leaked demo to PRCD, you could really trash a car with cool visuals, in the official demo, you couldn't get half of what was in the other, and you couldn't flip the car anymore, so you losed those wild 8 roll crashes with doors flying around. Haven't tried the full version yet.

If they had what was in the leaked demo of PRCD in this game, especially for those drag racing crashes, it would be awesome.

Also, to handle those visual upgrades to the cars. How about this, it you get hit in the side for example, bend the part and have it hang off bouncing around, this would cause drag, and it would eventually fall off. Also, having doors fly open from a hard wreck is cool to, and would cause more drag.

Wrecks don't have to be just eye candy, because the damage can effect your top speed, so it encourages you to drive better and not ram someone or take those risky shortcuts and such.

There could be cheaters out there, hope not, refering to the 13s. Did you ever feel like when you were doing your best run the game turned against you making you still hit the train anyway, or even the last car? It really pissed me off.

Where you using a gas pedal? It's pretty tough to get a good start with the arrows. I did get 24.88 with missing one perfect shift, so I know I can get better than my 24.83

Motor City Online, which I think was a NFS game just renamed, had some pretty cool handling and physics (no expert though). Did anyone play that? Does it compare to this? I haven't played Unleashed a whole lot, but I did play MCO plenty, if it's similar to that, then cool. The demo of NFSHP2 sucked.

Where's the fun in cheating like that. Outrunning someone to the finish line before the other player gets halfway, to me, would be kind of pointless. Why would you want a live skilled player for a challenge and do something like that, it makes no sense, might as well play offline with bots with AI set to stupid.

I can't understand a racing game that doesn't have the drivers seat view. You don't get a sense your driving from a camera placed on the bumper, but at least the hood cams can make up for it some bit, if they do have that view
