Well, it looks like they have the guy. He had training in the army, not a video game. I wouldn't even think these two would have a computer or at least a pc game. Still some guy talking about snipers on the news believes that video games are a possibility to why these individuals are desensitized enough to commit these acts. He would say there are on shot snipers, sniper who make there first kill and never could do it again, or some who look down the scope and can't do it. So for this sniper to make so many innocent kills, he mentions games may be a factor.
I don't care how much gore you see in a video game, its still just a bunch of polygons running through a dumb AI program, they're not alive and don't feel pain. To commit these horrible acts, you have to get over the fact that your sites are own a human being, living and breathing, who has feelings, a soul, a life, people who love them and they love, who have dreams, who are just like you. And you are about to take there only life away, for no reason, that is just evil. Until games desensitize you from all that, I'd wish they shut there mouths, I mean movies have more realistic violence, using real actors. I'm also sure novels can be just as violent in there own way.
If a guy or kid is going to go on a killing spree due to a movie, game, or novel, he or she probably was already crazy before making any contact with those sources, they just gave him the idea and it was their sickness already that would make them go through with it. I'm sure that only represents less that .001% of the population. Besides, most crime on the streets, people killing people, are over drugs, needing money for drugs, arguments, and other things gang related and crime, these people probably don't even have a computer, so what desensitized them to kill for their own gain?
Like how Mike Reagon says, "I'm just trying to make sense of this world we live in."
