My thoughts EXACTLY! You beat me to post. I still play Big Race USA.....it's from 1998 but is still one of the best pinball simulations available.

Yes, these aren't new...just WHQL certified. The release notes are dated October 8. I'd stick with the 169.04 betas.

Steam works great and they are one of the few remaining companies that still prioritize the PC over consoles.

Preloading TF2 right now......

The Wii superglue story is from BBspot....

Called "the world's greatest tech humour site" by The Register, BBspot creates entertainment for the geekier side of the world. BBspot produces a variety of features like fake news stories satirizing the tech and political worlds, the BBspot Mailbag which pokes fun at the Believers (people who believe our fake news) and much more.

It's been 6 hours since this was posted. How could there be zero comments? I can report that the SLI "improvements" are modest at best......not nearly as good as they should be for a "the way it's meant to be played" game.

It's root kits all over again. I think this is going to create a big thud and lots of back peddling for EA. I'm not buying the game. If I pay $50 for a game, I don't want any obvious advertising. A little product placement, when it fits into the story, maybe but not this BS. It's not like it's freeware for gosh sakes!

I love hype. I think Tom Chick wrote the all-time greatest story regarding game hype. If you haven't read it, do yourself a favor and check it out http://www.quartertothree.com/inhouse/columns/86/

It's so well written......I still laugh even though I've read it many times. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt to prove it.

This has really become a joke. After playing the beta, who's really that desperate to get the demo?

Do you mean "obtuse".......maybe you've been spending too much time watching The Shawshank Redemption.

My nitpicking aside, I thought your comments were hilarious! Keep up the witty commentary.

Here's the line I like: "The dynamic execution allows for in-game advertising elements to be updated and changed in real-time, keeping the advertising fresh and relevant for gamers."

See, it's really just a great new service for us consumers.....what a flooking joke! The only way to stop this shit is to vote with your wallet.

"Dear EA,
Thank you for making it easier and easier to decide to not buy 2142.

Love,
Cutedge"

My thoughts exactly. I don't think I will be getting BF2142.

I'd wait to see what's offered at $9.99 before passing judgement. This maybe better than the rip-off $29.99 expansion packs. JMHO.
