Admittedly I have not played MW3. I have played prior CoD games inncluding MW2 and was underwhelmed enough to completely avoid the EPs for it. I read a lot about it and with a crowded plate already, passing on MW3 was an easy decision for me.
Sorta like the music in the 1970s. Disco was the king of pop music but I never bought any Beegees (CoD) and bought a lot of Scorpions (BF) \m/
I too dispute that "core" gamers love it, but it depends on the definition. My friends bought Deus Ex, BF3, and Skyrim; not a one bought MW3. (I guess we're just bucking the trend boys

). Mainstream gaming rags lost credibility over a decade ago in my view; how does having an army of sycophants prove "Core gamers love it"? Unless you are talking about hardcore fans, to which I have no doubt they love anything and everything you shovel their way.
Activision will kill Blizzard, although it will be a slow process. Much like Asheron's Call and EQ do still today, WoW will always have people playing it, but you know they've lost a lot of people in the last number of months, and I predict that trend will continue. Here's some advice from one Bob to another: take the wasted cash from your TV ad campaign and put it into making better content for your sickly money tree. That thing needs more fertilizer, you know, like at launch, or TBC. Then your tree will flourish again.
Then again, perhaps the creative genius that once was is no more.....
