Lvl 41 warrior here and no grind.
I have quests in such places as Desolace, Stranglethorn Vale, and my newest takes me to an area I've never been yet, The Badlands.

I have an X800XT PE; an amazing card. I got it through a buddy of mine who owns a computer shop. He's been unsuccessful trying to get another one through his wholesalers though.

Don't blame the players, blame the game.

lol @ Nexus

I ran into this problem right after I got the HEV suit and crowbar. I get a pause at the beginning of a level (given), but I also get random "stutters" that occur anywhere, regardless of level size or the amount of combat in game.

Annoying but didn't stop me from completing it.....or starting again

Ya that sucks Ray.

How long does it take? Around these parts it's like a week (or at least it was 4 years ago when I first signed up with this outfit).

I had problems with steam last night so played a couple hours of WoW, tried again, got in. Well worth it!

Great game!! Opening chapter is terrific, amazing story so far, love the graphics, love the physics, love the scenery and atmosphere.

It's not without its disappointments: Steam. I've never had an issue with it until these last 2 days, but I can't stop thinking how pathetic it is that I've paid for a game, installed it, but can't play. Long load times; definitely not an improvement on the original in this aspect ;). Only ships with CS as the MP component. No CD case!

I've also started getting pauses with "mini" sound loops once I hit the water buggy levels. Anybody else get this?

Over $70 for a "steam"ing pile, ongoing wait to "unlock" files after just spending 20 minutes installing 5 CDs, and to top it all off, they don't even have the decency to throw in a chincy CD case.

This game better be good....

I've played AC, DaoC, EQ, AO....they all suck. WoW rocks because it doesn't blatantly waste your time and most of all, is fun (unlike Guild Wars....*yawn* )

I'm curious how many people intend to play at launch at if everyone is interested in doing a guild of Blues people?

I had forgotten about this game until the first stress test. I had so much fun in the test I immediately pre-ordered.

Count me in

Who knows ... I could be wrong.

You are wrong. Why not just start your d/l before you go to work or bed? That's what I do. I wake up in the AM or come home from work and my d/l is done.

I have access through other free sites to anything FP has to offer except for their "exclusive" content )which walks a fine line between underhanded marketing and outright coercion).

The more peeps that sign up for this shit the more it is encouraged. The only reason why they don't charge you more is because they can't get away with it....yet.

....but then, who knows... I could be wrong

I picked it up again once HotU came out and had no problem finding friends to party with on the persistent world servers. There are so many chracter combos peeps typically have numerous characters and continue to experiment with new class combos. I had so much fun online I've yet to play the single player campaigns.

*shrug*

You got that right; a terrible, terrible game that was. All I could think of at the time was the squandered potential.

Here's to hoping they get it right.

I like both my ATI and nVidia cards. I hope this gives ATI a kick in the pants to come up with a better openGl driver though.

I used to give GEnie hundreds a month playing Air Warrior on their network; glad we've come a long way

I'm trying out the 30 day free trial and so far have lasted 5/14 days. I might fire it up again. To me it seems like all the others; another level treadmill. Same mechanics as DAoC and SWG (or vice versa), at least AC was somewhat different. Very low poly, but that's okay, it depends on the content (of which I obviously have not devoted much time to ;)). I had fun checking out the races and classes, but killing critters got old fast.

Right now it simply can't compete with Joint Ops, IL-2, RRT3, and Master of Magic

I'll likely check out EQ2 and WoW, but I expect something new and different, or no sale here.

It never cease to amaze me the misconceptions and preconceived notions surrounding this publisher.

Gotta love the bashing. They are the number one gaming company in the world with most sales. I guess people do like them since they sell more than any other company.

They're also very good at what they do.

And if you think im joking just ask Westwood Studios.

It doesent have to say they bought them, its only a matter of time till it happens, first the contracts to make the game then they buy you out. its happened to many others and it will happen again.

I wonder which person(s) at Westwood signed the deal to get bought out by EA? Are they not just as responsible?

It seems to me that in the last number of years EA has invested millions into "innovative" or "different/creative" games. Black and White, The Sims, MotorCity Online, and Majestic to name but a few. Many of these titles bombed. Would you be willing to invest millions more into unknowns? I wouldn't, at least not in the near term.

Every company does shit like this.

You got that right. If I was to boycott every publisher or dev that pissed me off over the last 20 years I would've stopped playing games on PCs long ago.

It would of run just fine on a 486, if you had the 486DX and not the SX (or vice versa, I forget).

Just remember, SX stands for SUX

I think so.

This sim is shaping up to be the best naval sim in history. A veritable salve for the open sore that SH2 left in my soul, and a worthy successor to the present king of subsims, Aces of the Deep.
