Really happy to see LAN support; how about a dedicated server?

I had a lot of fun with Borderlands but it really needs a dedicated server to play online (not all of my gaming buds are in the same locale or even country).

Lots of fun and takes me back, but ya, still needs some work as some have pointed out.

The maps aren't very vehicle-centric. The original Tribes had a number of maps with bases in mid-air and really the only way to get there if you weren't a light was by vehicle. Nothing beats the feeling of coming in with a fully loaded APC and raping a base. I have not experienced this in TA.

I always liked Katabatic and it's nice to see it make a return, but ya more maps, and especially vehicle-centric maps, are needed.

For the most part latency is good, but I do get terrible lag spikes at times. I think some of the weapons need tweaking too, for example the technician's SMG; way too wimpy to be even a basic self-defence weapon.

I'm wondering what the max player count will be. I haven't seen any matches with greater than 36 people. It'd be nice to have 64 players on larger maps.

Played from beta up until December 2011.

From what I've seen of the next expansion they haven't learned anything.

Glad I quit, doubtful I'll go back, won't pick up the panda-pack but I'll at least read about the explansion after that; maybe they really will have learned something by then.

I just picked it up about a week ago.

As someone who played Tribes 1 & 2 for very long periods of time it was an adjustment not setting my own loadout. I'd like to see skiing a little more difficult to initiate and more use of vehicles (it could be the maps) as well, but overall I am having fun with it.

Looking at the pricing schema I doubt I would pay money for upgrade gold. The highest price should unlock everything as it's the price of a typical PC game, which I might've considered if that was the case.

I was disappointed with Doom3 for many of the reasons mentioned, but particularly the limited MP.

Then Rage....what a disastrous launch. Mr. Carmack's comments didn't help.

Rage did have a lot of failings, but one thing I thought it did do well were the NPC facial models and animations.

So yup, I'll be waiting on Doom4; read reviews and forums first.

Edit for typos

I got in the beta and it made me stop playing BF3 and SWTOR.

I've played more single player than multi, but I swing both ways

I'm having a great time....it's Diablo after all...I haven't experienced any real technical issues or lag. Bugs with tooltips and the career screen, minor stuff. The prior comment about loading: I've experienced it on occasion as well. The first time I experienced server downtime however it was a jarring reminder that this is not like the first 2 in more ways than graphics and skill trees.

I remember when Diablo came out.....and you could spawn a game for a friend to play on a LAN!!! I thought that was one of the coolest features I'd ever seen in a game at the time.

Now look where we are

But I do put it in perspective. I can easily drop $15x2 + at least $10 for drink and grub = $40 for an evening at the movies with my wife.

I'll spend 20 bucks more and get at least a hundred fold more hours of entertainment out of this one.

Here's a question for Gabe: is your tech support Mon-Fri, 9 to 5?

I submitted a ticket early Saturday and still no reply.

Having games on steam is useless if you can't access them....

Thanks Creston =)

I switched her over to NMM.

It's a good idea for mod newbies (my wife watched me setup NMM for her and was like "I don't have to do that every time do I?!?!" lol), but ya needs some work.

I don't know too much about steam's cloud or the mods workshop (I use nexus mod manager or JSGME) so I have a question I'm hoping you folks can help me out with.

My wife was checking out some of the skyrim mods available through steam and when it went down yesterday none of her mods would work.

Does steam have to be up to have access to the mods or is this a cloud setting?

Actually it isn't even just always on DRM, half the game literally never fully exists on your PC.

Its the ultimate rental game, meaning you may buy it, but you never really own anything that even can run without blizzard saying "yes yes.. you are not a dirty pirate ... maybe!"

I watched a documentary....oh.... 10 or so years ago? maybe longer, about the big shots in Silicon Valley. I distinctly recall the founder of Oracle predicting that in the future all software will be serverside and the consumer will pay for access. Looks like he was more accurate than I'd hoped.

Killed my sub after 7yrs.

It's apparent that the initial creative genius(es) that started it have left. Pandas and Pokemon (pet combat)??, down to 6 talents or w/e they're calling them now, and to me at least they now appear to be in shovel mode. Ya I'm done.

EA/MS have a duty of care to protect accounts.

You are correct. In Canada the legislation is called PIPEDA, Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act.

2142 is def my fave to date and I too really like Titan maps.

Up until BF3 I still fired up 2142 every so often. Doorman is God always had a couple good servers on the go. That may have changed with BF3's launch however.

VOIP is a mixed bag IMHO. As you say its' great for tactics, but as others have pointed out there's no shortage of assholes out there trying to blow your speakers or just being annoying.

In BF3 I do sometimes miss the commander and at times find myself looking for a supply crate, but I also recall many bad commanders in BF2/2142 and endless mutiny votes. With BF3 I have been in pub squads where the squad leader was bright enough to mark objectives; hopefully it'll catch on.

Our country is not a democracy, it is a democratic dictatorship.

These pricks will, and are, doing whatever the hell they want for the next 4 years, and are accountable to no one until the next election, when the propaganda machine Dr. Goebbels would admire is put into overdrive (it runs 24/7/365).

This and countless other examples in the past 4 decades proves it and it also proves, along with the CRTC, that the government acts to defend the interests of corporations over those of its own citizens.

The holiday Checkstop campaign is advertised everywhere aand the slacker that is my MP (what exactly have you done in office Mr. Goldring, besides pursue your own pet projects?) coming back from a fundraiser gets pulled over and refuses to submit to a breathalyzer test. In these parts that the same as DUI. I have no way to boot this useless excuse of a politician out of office.

I'm just waiting to hear how gets off on a technicality. /cough Rahim Jaffer /cough

Thanks for the tip!

I was quite hopeful this would do the trick (something similar worked for SH5) but no joy.
