They might as well delay the game for another 90 days so it can support Ray Tracing upon release. /s

Ok so here's the Elephant in the Room question. The hardware SEEMS great, but it never seems to be hardware issues over driver issues. Has ATI/AMD finally gotten over this issue to the point where I would switch my loyalty to AMD? Cause I currently have a 1080TI, the 3070's are looking super sexy right now, and with Ray Tracing now in full swing, should I wait to see if AMD can pull it together?
You shouldn't have any loyalty to any company, not AMD and not Nvidia. Good luck finding a new AMD card or a new Nvidia card before Christmas, it's unlikely. There is huge shortage of cards and neither company can meet the demand. Time will tell how the driver situations is for AMD on the new cards. However I have watched sources talk about how AMD has increased their driver development focus because they know they have let down costumers with their driver as previous posters in this thread have talked about the 5x000 driver situation early on. Also I can't expect first generation AMD ray tracing to be as good as Nvidia's 2nd generation ray tracing. Having said that, I don't think the ray tracing tech is so amazing that it's worth halving your FPS when all the ray tracing effects are turned on if you don't enable Nvidia's DLSS 2.0. I don't think the improvements in image quality are that different from traditional rendering techniques. If you watch the latest Cyberpunk 2077 trailer where they show you "RTX On" you will notice that they aren't showing you "RTX On" vs "RTX Off" side by side so you can see the difference. That's because you probably you would be underwhelmed by the the difference between "RTX On" and "RTX Off" other than the drop in frame rate. Those Cyberpunk 2077 specs are better than what we normally get because they include resolution and detail presets, but they aren't telling us what framerate they are targeting with those specs, so they are still mostly useless.

About the ray tracing, I have to laugh at this video because they really should show you ray tracing one and tray tracing off, same scene. But I bet if they did that, you wouldn't see much of a difference, certainly not much of a difference that's worth something like half fps cut if they have all the ray tracing effects on.

Okay these requirements are better than usual, but without telling us what framerate they are targeting with those specs, it's not as useful.

I thought they board of directors could remove him. The CEO is either incompetent or malicious. He either knew what was happening but didn't do anything which makes him complicit and malicious or he didn't know which makes him very incompetent.

In a hierarchical organization, they should also remove the CEO, because the guy at the top the one who is ultimately responsible for everyone beneath him. But they won't.

I played the demo and I hated the stealth elements in the dream like sequences where you go into people's minds. Everything else was cool but not that.

They shouldn't have released it then. Amazing what happens when you offer refunds. It's harder to release games that are that are so early on obviously buggy, let's people play below the limit and get refunds.

It's all about that "retail price" which never is reached because of the high demand. When reviewers do their reviews, and they factor price into the equation, it's always based on the retail price, but nobody pays that because of the high demand and the inflated resulting price because of it. The retailers are happy because they get more profit per item, and the company is happy because they can point to the high demand for the stock analysts. Rince and repeat.

I know Bill Mitchell is in the high echelon of old school arcade players. But MAME was used in the Donkey Kong world record he submitted, the evidence is overwhelming. Using MAME was against the rules. Therefore that's cheating. The only question is should Twin Galaxies have removed all of his scores or just the ones we know were obtained against the rules? They definitely did well to ban him from any further participation because once you are caught cheating you should not be given any 2nd chances. But it's possible some of his other high scores were not obtained by cheating.

It's the internet. If you disappoint people on the internet, depending on how many pay attention to you, you are going to get death threats. The more people that pay attention to you the more likely you are to receive a death threat. Lots of broken people out there. It's ethically wrong to do it of course and we shouldn't accept people doing it. We shouldn't just throw our hands into the air and accept it. But other than doing what Andrzej Zawadzki did by speaking up about it, only better mental health, and social/legal repercussions for death threats is going to solve this problem. Remember if there is some problem in wider society, it's going to be a problem on the Internet as well especially with a bit of anonymity.

I sure envy Chris Roberts. He has used human psychology even if unintentionally, to enrich himself by selling his investors on his dream, with no legal duty to those investors whatsoever. What would stop him from just shutting the whole development down? Yeah it would be a deathblow to his career and his reputation, but couldn't he just live off the money he currently has to for the rest of his life? And why would he stop anyway if his investors continue to pay him? All his investors keep enabling him to do this for as long as the money flows development can continue and the scope of the game can grow.

An $60 early access game. Come on. If people buy this you know it's just going to release more games charging full price for early access.

I have an adaptive sync monitor that is g-sync compatible and I have been getting intermittent black screen when launching a fullscreen game. It actually was also happening when launching a particular PC of software that was not fullscreen occasionally as well.
