There is huge shortage of cards and neither company can meet the demand. Time will tell how the driver situations is for AMD on the new cards. However I have watched sources talk about how AMD has increased their driver development focus because they know they have let down costumers with their driver as previous posters in this thread have talked about the 5x000 driver situation early on. Also I can't expect first generation AMD ray tracing to be as good as Nvidia's 2nd generation ray tracing. Having said that, I don't think the ray tracing tech is so amazing that it's worth halving your FPS when all the ray tracing effects are turned on if you don't enable Nvidia's DLSS 2.0. I don't think the improvements in image quality are that different from traditional rendering techniques. If you watch the latest Cyberpunk 2077 trailer where they show you "RTX On" you will notice that they aren't showing you "RTX On" vs "RTX Off" side by side so you can see the difference. That's because you probably you would be underwhelmed by the the difference between "RTX On" and "RTX Off" other than the drop in frame rate. Those Cyberpunk 2077 specs are better than what we normally get because they include resolution and detail presets, but they aren't telling us what framerate they are targeting with those specs, so they are still mostly useless.RedEye9 wrote on Nov 21, 2020, 18:09:
They might as well delay the game for another 90 days so it can support Ray Tracing upon release.
Ok so here's the Elephant in the Room question. The hardware SEEMS great, but it never seems to be hardware issues over driver issues. Has ATI/AMD finally gotten over this issue to the point where I would switch my loyalty to AMD? Cause I currently have a 1080TI, the 3070's are looking super sexy right now, and with Ray Tracing now in full swing, should I wait to see if AMD can pull it together?

I once received a death threat because I said I was going to suicide so I wrote the person back and thanked them for trying to help
