And like another article I read that less then 10% of players will experience the end game stuff. I don't blame Blizzard to much money for only 10% of the players is not worth it. There is enough content in the game that once the new expansion is out that people will still be doing the Lich King stuff.

The game was/is not as flexable as the pen and paper game is and never will be. By Cryptic now licensing this they have ruined the game in me and my friends eyes that used to play it many years ago.

I'm going to give this a try...but the stupid security thing has to be changed. I lost count how many times I had to reenter the code as it was not valid.

I understand that it has to be difficult for the computer to read it, but when it is just as difficult for a potential customer to not get it as it is hard to read if that is lowercase or uppercase, is that a q or a bad written a has to be looked at!

So now all the old zones will be phased? If i don't have the expansion, and I'm walking around the barrens, and you have the expansion, and you're in the barrens.. i am to assume we will be able to chat in whispers, but not interact or see any sort of public chat?

I think that is going to be for everyone Colorado, like Lich King where the Shadow Ghosts were running around in the major towns. I think the expansion will give people the ability to go to 85, the new craft and races. But weather your new or an old player the world will be torn from now on.

I think it's kind of cool and interesting as it is moving a story along and the events are affecting the world which affects everyone. My only complaint right now is the elite players who can do the Naxx and VoA runs have the better equipment. You have to know the fights and do so much DPS to be invited.

How am I to ever even try if no one will let me in? I feel this new expansion will be the same way for the new content.

I was part of the beta as well and I know a lot of people who have played CoX will compare the two as being City of Heros 2. A lot of the costume designs are very very similar. Yes they have expanded on it but again you can pretty well create your same costume you had in CoH.

Travel powers work the same as well, while you are in combat (on purpose or aggro while going by) your movement powers get hindered so you go to a crawl either forcing you to fight or get lucky and get out of aggro range so they run back.

Teaming up in the game is not really needed, and you can survive on only 3 powers for the whole game (your End building power, your single big attack and your AoE attack). Yes there are other powers in the game but they don't add much in form of tactics.

The other thing good or bad is that this is a different MMO where you will not have your tank class, your DPS and healer, everyone is DPS granted some powers higher up and switching your "mode" will allow you to tank or heal.

Everyone is getting upset that they banned the whole guild, as one poster mentioned they can see who was in the raid. Most of the bigger guilds in game will run the instances more then once to give everyone in the guild a fair shot at getting all the cool items.

I can see that this was probably a case where most of the guild (if not all) were a part of the raid in one of those instances where the item was used.

NKD, there is no need to flame everyone for not wanting to go to Vista yet. There are many reason why people hate Vista which I am not that technical but for one there are quite a few games out there that seem to be a lower requirement on XP then it is on Vista. Microsoft said this OS was to be dedicated for gaming.

Now there are people like myself that have a family that do come first. Don't get me wrong I would love to get a new kick ass computer but if it's that or my daughter go hungry there is no doubt what I am going to do.

I would love for some other replies on this to NKD to educate him why people are hesitant to go to Vista and want to stick with XP as long as we can.

Yeah movie sale losses may be pretty high from piracy, but can you honestly blame people for saving a few bucks on a terrible movie that they would of spent money on?

I think Hollywood will have to smarten up and pump out better movies that people will want to go out and see. Secondly the overall cost of going to see a movie is rediculous. To just go out on a date you are looking at around $40 bucks which to me is just crazy let alone if you have a family.

I was one of those "silly" one's that bought HL2 when it came out. I don't regret it one bit. When I had to re-format my computer not too long ago I just grabbed my CD and probably installed it faster then you had to download it.

As for the CD not having DoD:S that wasn't even an option up until recently so that is no valid point. HL1:S again I have the first one on CD and have no reason that I would want to play it with the physics being the only major difference.

As for the extras that were offered to download that was a gimic from VALVe to try and prove that this is the wave of the future. Think of it as buying a car that runs or or driving in a car pool where the owner has a fully loaded car.

It comes down to that I have access to my car when I need it and don't have to wait (re: download) for me to go where I need to (play the game).

Funny after all this time that SOE is finally listening to what the players were warning against when it first came out. In all honesty I think it's too late if they do rollback the changes to pre-NGE. The people that have left are already hurt and will probably only see this as another ploy to come back and won't.

Sorry SOE, this is not World of Warcraft nor was there any chance you could of dragged WoW people over if they liked what they were playing (or any MMO for that matter). People on the forums where suspecting that in late Feb. early March that something would happen to the game. Some expected the plug to be pulled...could this just be the first step?

When I was waiting for the images to load up I was thinking, "oh boy more blured images". But to my surprise they are pretty sharp.

I've always been interested in the whole Crypto-zoology thing and hope that we can someday uncover the truth if they do really exist.

I just went to sign up on this beta test (as it looks interesting) and I get an email that I have to get a guardian to sign then I have to fax in or snail mail in the email?

WTF...I want to click on accept or send and email back I am not going to go through the extra effort of buying a stamp or paying for a fax to find out that after starting beta (which is still not guaranteed) that this game isn't for me.

I don't think that the companies are to blame...I feel it's a bit of the ESRB's fault for not giving it a proper rating to warn the player. But ultimately it does come down to the parent buying the game for there kids.

If a parent goes out to buy a game that Tommy wants and doesn't check the rating then it's there fault for not paying attention. I guess to a degree it does fall back on the clerk to not sell the game if they feel the rating is "higher" then the age of the kid buying it.

I was majorly disappointed (ok not really) that after clicking the link that it wasn't a preview for the upcoming Team Fortress 2. What happened Doug to a post when HL2 was just about to come out and said that news about TF would come after the release?

Call me old fashion but the ONLY reason why I still have Steam on my system it to play TFC. Some day that will pass and Steam will be permanently removed off my system.

Interesting point Semantics, but I just read on another forum the other day that linked to a recently held conference where four major names in the MMO community were talking about what mistakes were made and what to avoid.

One of the points mentioned that you should not make drastic changes to a game to "try" and draw a crowd from one game to your game. One you will NEVER get those people over cause they are in that game for a reason (ie. like the game, there friends play it, etc.)

Two is that your current community you will now alienate cause the man reason why they are playing (and paying) for your game is what originally brought them to it but you are changing it in "hopes" of bringing more but it's a double whammy!

I think the next evolution in MMO games should be eliminating the who "level" design, forcing players who want to say do more of the non-combative crafting on the same level.

I think some sort of experience/point system should be implimented. So a standard player who wants to just fight could do that and earn "points" to spend how he feels fit to improve his character. On the same line a character who say wants to collect different plants to create potions should earn "experience" from that as well cause they are learning how to make the potion.

Yes I know my "design" is not perfect but I am sure that no MMO game was created in a 5 minute thought written on a napkin. But my point I am trying to get across is that the above is a start for a design to not force every player in the game that they must do combat to be able to do better stuff. Also with a point system I think to a degree if the per se game has PvP then there is a chance for an inexperienced combative character able to go against an experience one and not get "one shotted". Although the experience one will still probably win at the end but that is an extreme senerio case.
