I picked up the Dixie Chicks new album and really don't care for it. There is none of their fun, original style on it. Very bland and boring. Where are the "Goodbye Earl" and "Sin Wagon" type songs? Where's the spunky attitude and fresh sounds?

I'm sorry to hear that. I'd been planning to pick it up soon. I think they just got beaten up so badly for voicing their opinion that it made them cranky and old.

Add Warhawk's story to another reason I'm glad that Zathrus wears steel toed boots to do work around the house!

ABC is going to fix some of the issues by making the new episodes occur more regularly. They're going to air them in an 8-7-7 cluster, so it'll stop the whole "here's 2 new episodes and nothing new for a month." That'll help keep some traction.
I think if you were able to watch the whole Season 2 in a chunk (like on DVD), it would flow more smoothly. When there are new episodes here and there, it's hard to keep momentum.

Supposedly, they have a 5-6 season arc mapped out completely. While I don't have faith that it's as cohesive as JMS and B5, I'm gonna stick with it.

As for the online Lost game, I'm enjoying the heck out of it. I like ARG's, and I'm still deeply bitter that Majestic worked well for the first chunk, and then just went nowhere. (The fact that 9-11 occurred in the middle of it really doomed the series.)

Generally closer to 5 than 6, and during the day, it's more like 4. That's fine, though. She's a baby - it's her job to torment us!

If that's the case, then what's my 3-yr old's excuse?

But in general she's doing great -- sleeping for 5-6 hours in a stretch. Last night she didn't wake up until about 4 am and was only up for ~40 mins (according to Heather; I crashed on another bed at that point).

I totally agree with Z: the placenta was a bit shocking in its "OMG THAT IS HUGE!" nature.

As for those who do natural birth? I think "bully for them." For me, more epidural please.

First child -- 15 hours of back labor (baby is facing the wrong direction, so more painful than normal) followed by a C-section.

To be fair, the c-section wasn't because of the back labor. Once I got the epidural, life was good. The c-section was due to fetal distress due to marginal cord insertion. (Basically, the umbilical cord attached to the placenta on the side of the placenta instead of facing towards the kid. With every contraction, the cord was constricted and was leading to oxygen deprivation.)

My mother is supposed to be coming up here in a bit over a week, to help with the toddler and baby. And, AFAIK, that's still on -- except things have gotten horribly complicated. She has severe back pain (being treated), but much worse is that my uncle (her brother-in-law) keeled over dead from a heart attack yesterday afternoon. So she's currently comforting her sister.

And to be selfish, hearing about the death really put a damper on our anniversary evening.

It is a valid birthing form, if you are going unmedicated. However, I was just pointing out that Britney went for the prescheduled 1st time c-section.

I know it's a Queen cover, but it's simply...breathtaking in its lewdness.

Pssh - You dare to diss Fixed? It's creative and unusual...

And tell me - what are your feelings about "Suck" (the version released on the wee disc inside of Broken (or a hidden track if you got the CD later)?
