I've gone and seen the corpse bride and wallace and gromit at the latest showings possible and still had parents bringing their kids (on a school night) or bringing their babies

I remember seeing Bad Santa and being shocked that some dumbass couple brought their kid to it...(if you haven't seen the movie, suffice it to say, it's VERY adult.)

To be fair, W&G is probably okay for kids above 5. Corpse Bride is for older kids.

But I can top your Bad Santa story. One weekend, we arranged with friends to split a 'sitter so we could go see Kill Bill 2.

Some a**hole parents brought their 11, 7, and 4 year old kids to Kill Bill 2. Seriously. The mom left in a huff part of the way through the film with the 4 year old, but the 2 older kids stayed with dad.

Z and I were just horrified at the complete dearth of parenting shown by those folks.

Heather: Pleasure to have in class? You know the professor is just hitting on your right? I have never heard of a guy receiving such a note.

Hee! My 70 year old Jewish grandfather professor has the hots for me!

(I think it's because I'm one of the few in an online class of 50 that actually offer any sort of contribution.)

Freecell, damnit. Not Spider Solitaire.

As for my participation, the only time I'm not listening is when I ask you to stop yelling/bitching at whatever game you're playing!

PS - I did receive an email from the professor today telling me I'm a pleasure to have in the class. So there. The secret is multitasking, baby!

Enahs is exactly right. I'm wondering what Z did to El Cabron to make him do the dance of superiority so hard.

There's a nice description of laws v. theories in science on Wikipedia, if dogma will allow him to zoom over there and check it out.

Backaches are no fun at all. I used to have them much more often before we found a used Aeron for sale in our neighborhood. It used to be that a long day sitting at my computer would have me a very unhappy camper. Nowadays, the pain is so much less (except when the gestating kiddo decides to lay on a nerve).

Kneel. Kneel before Zod.

Oh, Cresty. Apparently I should have used the special Blue's tag for "I know the freaking quote, but I was making a joke about it being a baby who is more inclined to crawl..."

I worked w/ a guy named Mark Barby, a few jobs ago. Really cool guy.
His daughter's name? Kennan.
(I swear this is true.)

Why did Mark hate his child so?

Hey, there are about a dozen kids in the US right now called ESPN!!! I think that Kal-El kid will thank the Lord every day that he's not called espyn...

Oy vey. Proving that stupidity spreads.

If you are going to name your kid "Kal-El", you better make sure they know how to crawl before Zod.

*sigh* You never let me have any fun! :p

Any time that I think people have chosen the ultimate in stupid baby names, I find that stars are always willing to up the ante.

from http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/wireStory?id=1180037
"His wife, Alice Kim Cage, gave birth Monday to a boy, Kal-el Coppola Cage, in New York City, said Cage's Los Angeles-based publicist, Annett Wolf. No other details were available."

Kal-el? WTF? I don't care HOW much of a comic geek you are, you just don't go all Superman on us.

Z? Is it okay if we name our next kid Morpheus? (Sandman, not Matrix)

Anyone who doesn't think the original Doom
was a scary horror game, in the same way as Doom 3 is, either
didn't play it back when it was cutting-edge tech, or is a
real fearless bad-ass... ;-)

Funny story about Doom 1. When I was in college in the early 90s, my boyfriend at the time picked up Doom off the primitive 'net. He got me hooked on it very quickly. We used to stay up late alternating playing it on our PCs (whichever house we were at). One morning, at 7 AM, we'd woken up early, gotten some Krispy Kreme, then came back to my apartment to play Doom (serious addiction - I think this was early January 94).

We didn't pay attention to the speaker settings on my PC. All of the sudden, we hear a banging on my bedroom door. My very patient roommate was outside, wrapped in a sheet, asking if we could please turn down the sounds of hell demons, because it was interrupting her sleep.

We sheepishly agreed.

Creating an account is different than “chillin” with us.
Like I said, would she really be here if you where not?

Look, bucky. Don't get uppity with my main squeeze. He's got enough stress with tending to me, the pregnant one, as well as our wee rampaging toddler.

The deal is, I was here. I just didn't feel the need to jump into the pool. However, I surmised you all were my type of people, so I decided to cannonball in.

As for my gamer gal friends, they often discuss eclectic rambling things like what goes on in OOTB. Boys are not the only ones making fun of Creston's nanotubes, evolution, and how to get your baby down for the evening while not missing a raid.

Women > men at multitasking. Here I am gestating, finishing up a bowl of Spaghettios (with meatballs), and watching some Daily Show off the TiVo. Later on, I may figure out a way to weird out Bronco some more by being a chick on OOTB.
