Savage will probably get good reviews, hailed for its innovative gameplay. But few will play it, and it will barely break even at the market, at best. The decision to go with a fantasy FPS setting will be the death blow. Hexen/Heretic games, Thief, Heroes of Might and Magic. All of these FPS fantasy games have mostly faded away from memory, some were outright failures.. others simply sold a fraction of the gun-toting games. It's peculiar how the more ambitious game designers seem to go out of their way to make games in genres that are not popular. Battlezone games, FPS/RTS hybrid, great reviews, tank combat.
