Personally I think it's highly addictive although the looks are subpar, and the controls horrid. I also experienced some extremely annoying technical glitches but no-one else mentioned them so it's probably just me.

Wow now that's a BAD review! Sounds like complete ass.
Made by Jarhead games which seems to be an alias for Piranha games (who made Fox interactive's Die Hard Nakatomi Plaza.)
I guess they changed their name to hide from all the bad reviews?

Jarhead staff: http://www.jarheadgames.com/briefing.html
Pirahna games staff: http://www.piranha-games.com/corpinfo.html

I love the part where he says it gives Value titles a bad name. LOL! Time for another name change I think.

Next week the FBI will also begin development of a program to deter online swearing. The anti-swearing program is expected to require the same amount of staff as the anti-piracy program in order to yield the same results. The task force lead Jack Meoff was stopped and questioned outside of the Washington Ferrari dealership by the press but was unable to give any projections on either program's success. Mehoff did divulge that the budget for the programs was large enough for his liking before disappearing into the dealership.

For those who simply forgot Tribes 2 after the first initial out of the box nightmares, you should really grab that disc out of the garbage bin, load it up, install the latest update patch (yes I know its 80megs) and start playing tribes 2 classic or version 2

I had forgotten!! Back in post 19 I said I was gonna play it again that night... Ha! First off I couldn't download the neccesary auto patcher because the file was 404, then when I checked out planet-tribes.com for a patch to download manually, I took one look at the patches page and changed my mind about even attempting to get it up to date let alone play it. Good god! I mean... LOOK at this!! It's comedy! http://www.planettribes.com/tribes2/recfiles.shtml

Any way I put a little more effort tonight into figuring out which patch I needed and grabbed the appropriate patch. (version 21570 or 24834 to 25034) I tried to install it from a fresh CD install and the install process informed me that my "ispawn.exe is not a valid previous version." How hurting is that?! Man am I annoyed I payed for this game.

Tribes used to be my all time favorite multiplayer game with the Renegades mod. but then the servers all started running these screwed up versions of it where every weapon in the game was full auto/unlimited ammo etc. Ruined the game for me. I loved being the engineer in that game and setting up defences and traps. I wish HL-TFC's engineer were more like the engineer in Tribes Renegade. ie: More varied defence options to build. I bought Tribes 2 but for some reason never played it. I just yanked out the Disc out of storage though and I think i'll give it a shot tonight.

SE - You can't give us little clues as to if it will include Capture the Flag or Team Fortress?
Josh - ...

That's pretty much confirmation of a bundled TF2 for me.! :-D

Funny how this game no longer interests me with HL2 coming out soon, and Stalker... not.

All i know is I enoyed the demo even though the AI was as dumb as sticks and it ran like crap on my GeForce 2 Ultra.
When I upgrade my card I'll probably buy it when it's dirt cheap and maybe this expansion pack to go along with it.

If they're looking for animators instead of playtesters at this point... They obviously must've changed the game drastically again. And if they're hiring for DF now, they must have a lot more work to do before it's done. So much for a release this year. (Again.)
God only knows how 3D Realms hasn't gone belly up and bankrupt by now.

Hey George... ever hear of feature creep?

My god. I can't believe this discussion is taking place.
Did people bitch this much about the realism of a chainsaw being on mars for Doom 1?

I don't think so.

It was more like... "Ha ha! Watch this imp jiggle and scream as I plung this chainsaw (that I just happen to have here in my pocket or something) into his chest. Weeeeee! I love this game."

Let's just say that if I was working on the game, and felt the need to satisfy the anal retentive fools who demand some logic from a sci-fi fantasy/horror genre product, I'd place the chainsaw in the kitchen's meatlocker for cutting up the huge sides of frozen solid beef that are stored there. That enough of an explanation for you?

Why not question the exploding barrels of green goo that randomly lay around in Doom. Or the nonsensical architecture? Why not bitch about the fact that you can breath outside despite not having an oxygen tank? Will you complain if gravity is like earths?

Argh. This is just to ridiculous to waste my time debating.

btw... Guye... Nice analogy. :-) I'd actually wondered that to myself once but decided to just suspend my disbelief and enjoy the movie. How about them powerloaders though huh? WTH was the point in those? ;-)

If Doom 3 and HL 2 were released on the same day I think I'd play 1 level of Doom 3 first, then 1 level of HL 2.
Whichever had a better hold of me after the first level would be what I'd be playing for the rest of the night.
Then I'd probably variate the next night until I'd decided what I wanted to finish all the way through before switching to the other one.

Between Matrix Reloaded, & E3 - HL2...
It's gonna be a great month as far as I'm concerned.

My instincts were correct on the setting for the sequel. Although I didn't predict Europe.

Graphics don't look TOOO amazing but then again this is a game that was started long ago and is soon to be released.

Yay Valve! Now where the hell is TF2?! Bundled for free with HL2 I hope. :-P

Manoman I'm glad my name isn't George Brousard

Why doesn't Indy have his jacket ever?
The jacket is almost as much his trademark as the hat and whip.
I wish it didn't look so cartoony and I hope they got a good voice for him.
