It's not about looking at naked girls or watching "porn." There is plenty of that on the net.

This has a cool magazine publishing simulation combined with relationship sim play. None of the boring eating, sleeping, peeing, bathing elements of the sims, and set in Hef's lifestyle.

I don't think a lot of people understand this game; it's not *about* boobs, but it has them in the game. It's not *about* sex, but it has it in the game. It's about managing a high end lifestyle, producing a magazine and throwing parties.

This "game" is preposterous, and tasteless. However, that doesn't concern me as much as I swear to god these were the exact graphics that the "experts" were talking about on the history channel special this weekend about Kennedy. They recreated Dealy Plaza, positioned everything as according to the Zapruder film, and then "showed" how LHO could have acted alone, plotting out lines and trajectories, etc.

I thought at the time..Interesting...they went through some work on that.

Oh, then I find out they are making it into a cash-grab game. BIG difference.

Way to punch your one-way ticket to hell!

Well, we shall see. So far, everyone who has played the game or seen a demo has come away impressed.

This ain't bargin bin material. Look into the developer's track record (Majesty) and the lead designer's 20 years of experience (she's done work since Wizardry, leading it.)

You are mistaken....but you'll find that out this fall.

ARUSH does not allow employees to troll message boards. That guy doesn't work at ARUSH. I'm pretty much the only person from here that will post online.

Cainin, you are exactly right on why the models are slightly lower poly than some of the other games out there. With all the detail in the levels and the massive number of onscreen enemies/teammates in the SP, the polys are a bit lower in order to keep the game playable on "lower" end systems.

What you are saying about the level of detail in the areas is spot on...I've been testing this game for over a year now, since we signed Digitalo, and the one thing that has stood out is the details in the levels. I too have noticed that other games seem bare in comparison...not that that is a bad thing...I love my Vice City, I just wish there was some trash and stuff in the streets.

Hey Raj, did you download the 3MB performance fix? That should have resalved your frame rate issues.

Also, as dedicated servers begin to show up, the online experience will have better FR and less lag.

I have seen this three times, and for the life of me, I don't know why I chuckle every time.

To further clarify...you need a strong rifle to blow off heads, arms and legs. Sniper rifles will do the trick.

You can shoot off heads, arms and legs.

Grenades will sometimes blow up bodies and leave leg stumps standing there.

ARUSH Entertainment, Groove Games and Digitalo have just released a performance fix for the Devastation Multiplayer Demo. This is a performance fix and not a full patch. This performance fix addresses specific problems that may cause players to experience extreme frame rate loss and connection lags even when running a local LAN game.

A full patch will be released sometime in the coming weeks. It will fix many of the other problems that have been reported on the DevastationGame.com Forums like server browser issues, miscellaneous gameplay issues, physics, and even audio problems.

NOTE: The issue that caused the poor performance is NOT an issue in the retail version of the game. It only appeared in the demo.

The 3 MB fix is located on the mirrors below. Simply run the .exe, point it to your Dev MP install folder and install it. Your demo version will be v. 369 and you will be ready to play!

http://www.devastationgaming.com/ They have it right now.

The game starts off in a linear form in the first missions, and each one gets less and less linear. By the second half of the game, you have the feeling of a multiplayer game where you are assaulting an enemy base and they are assaulting yours.

You'll see this in the singleplayer demo that will be on PC Gamer's demo disc Mid-April. Half the game is this non-linear multiplayer format. The first 8 maps or so are more linear, but each of them offer areas for exploration. I really think you'll dig it.

The demo should be around mid-day on Thurs? No real ETA yet..I'm testing it now..and it's fun.

Yes, please bear in mind that this is a movie from Germany, and they have so many rules and such regarding games. If you notice, nothing is shot in the movie, hence there is very little gameplay shown.

This is not the movie that ARUSH, Groove and Digitalo have been working on, which will show gameplay elements.

The one thing console gaming has going for it is game rentals from Blockbuster or whatever. I hate my PS2 game demos, because the menu is a bitch to navigate and the demo is usually short and boring.

Instead I rent the game and then decide if it is worth buying. Stuntman was fun as hell but I more than halfway through on one rental, so I didn't buy it. I rented, then bought Vice City.

So in essence, the rental counter at your local Blockbuster or whatever is the console gamer's demo disc.

Challenge accepted. We are planning to make a good game and not a T&A festival. Since you haven't heard of us, here's a little info on the CEO and the company.

Jim Perkins, Founder, President, and CEO
Jim Perkins sold his entertainment software publishing company FormGen, a $20M entertainment software publisher with such huge hits as Duke Nukem 3D, Wolfenstein 3D, and Doom, to GT Interactive Software in 1996. Mr. Perkins understands the fundamentals of publishing and has excelled at selecting the industry's top selling games for more than a decade. He has strong working relationships with the world's most experienced and successful traditional software game development studios.

ARUSH publishes PC and console video games for sale in retail outlets and on the Internet. It recently published Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project and will publish Devastation in 2003.

I have two things to say needles...one, I'm with the publisher so you're shooting blanks in here just like you do in RL.

Second, you aren't very good at trolling. I've spent years posting on a site where the only thing it is about is trolling and perfecting your game. You suck out loud at it. First off, good trolling is never blatant. The mere fact that from your first post people can see you are trolling means you are failing hard. Instead, try to troll as some of the others (even in this thread) have. Throw out statements that others will find offensive, but don't do it with a big "LOOK AT ME TROLL THIS COMMENT OUT THERE" sign pointing to your head. That way people actually think you are serious and begin to flame you, and you can then have your fun. There are trollers and there are people who incorrectly think they are clever. Guess which you are.

It's pretty sad when you can't even troll well. Chin up, needles. With practice you may be able to even fool a couple of people.

"The person I feel sorriest for here is D-Dog - man sounds like he expected a sensible conversation"

Actually, this is exactly how I thought it would go down...I knew there would be a lot of "Playboy's bad, mmmkay?" type posts. But I am glad to see there are other people out there that don't cringe and wet themselves at the mere mention of breasts.
