No wonder the offer has not yet been accepted, it takes some time to understand this sort of texts.

Somewhere a bunch of lawyers are on their favorite lawyer website wondering how anything gets done in the games industry. "What the bloody hell is a GF6800GTOC, Walter?" "I dunno Jim. Let's go use our fabulous wealth to make a hooker do it with a horse." "Smashing good idea, Walter"

To each his own dialect. (Lawyer dialect, in my mind, being a rather evil derivative of London English)

just wanted to say I bought ut2k4 for this mod, and it's been totally worth it. havent played 2.1 yet, but the tweaks sound great (tho there's alot of talk of lag problems now..)

are there any other ut2004 mods of comparable quality?

Having already built up a range of sports and motorsports titles, these new additions provide a logical extension of the range

Finally! Someone has discovered the missing link to:

1. "Mike Tyson Heavyweight Boxing"
2. ?????
3. PROFIT!!

what's the "xp" bonus pack ?

Those 2 onslaught levels released for Windows XP only as a promotion by msft/atari.

Non-xp specific versions on filerush:

I finally picked up ut2k4 last night, but haven't played yet (I left my comp torrenting RedOrchestra, the patch and the community and "xp" bonus packs, so I'll be all set to play tonight)

Anything else I need?

Based on the April 24, 1980

I thought the whole point of Kuma was that it'd be based on _current_ events, not things that happened before most gamers were born.

The mmorpg you're remembering was codenamed "Quest" and was what id was working on before they switched to Doom3. It wasn't a real mmorpg, more like NeverwinterNights in fps-style, where people could set up their own servers and link them together.

Well then that's my vote for what they'll be working on. You know, because my vote counts and all...

Wasn't there a vague rumor that Trinity was some sort of MMORPG?

Now _there's_ a sector that needs a shakeup (kill small rodent, collect 5xp, repeat 100 times, level up. kill slightly larger rodent, collect 10xp, repeat 100 times, level up. make a rabbit-tooth sword at the local smithy. kill giant spider, collect 15xp, repeat 100 times, level up...)

All looks great, but still just refinements of current engine tech.

True, but wowzers it's pretty (watch the shakey cam, the stills dont do it justice).

I'm tempted to say here that in one or two more engine revs the visuals will be "done", but I'd hate to stumble across this post when I'm playing "Doom Tournament 2013: Blueshift" and think what a fool I was.

But ya, the features that set apart the Unreal4/Doom5/Half-Life4 engines will probally be more tools, physics and AI related rather than visual quality.

I reloaded Tribes2 after the recent release, but even though I'm on all different hardware I'm still having the same problem (occasional lock-ups). At least I finally got to see the VPU recover feature on my 9500 in action...

This prompted me to reinstall T1, and boy that's a fun game, I'd almost forgot how much time I spent playing renegades.

Screens look like "Napolean: Total War"

Could be cool if it's as polished as the CA games. I enjoyed Commandos1, skipped 2 entirely, and tried a demo of 3 and wasn't impressed.

Sorry buddy, but NVA didn't leave a city alone because it was "protected by the power core". War isn't a straight line.

That said, when was the last time a real war was won by standing under a flag for 30 seconds? The whole concept of spawn points/bases isn't exactly historically accurate.

You know, if microsoft made this an xbox only game in japan it'd sell like hotcakes. There's tons of ps2 train sim games (and even dedicated controllers) over there.

I do hope they focus more on the police side of swat than make it another counter-terror game. I definitely enjoyed the barracaded-suspect and bank robbery levels in swat3 more than the stop the terrorist levels.

Hmm. I was excited about UJ _several years ago_ but now I just don't know.

Since it's being done by Irrational, I assume none of the original devs are involved with this?

hmm, i've never had a single issue with BFV (except perhaps the m60) and just use ASE instead of the built-in pinger and all is well.

I do hope the 'codename' battlefield 2 implies it will be a more distinct feeling game, since I do agree that BFV still feels alot like bf42.

As you learn more about the game (as we talk about it more) you'll understand why this game is what it is and could be no other way.

My guess is the game is based off the actual diary/journal/interviews with a real veteran or group of veterans.

"Band of Brothers: the video game", so to speak.

If that's the case, _please_ don't include a life meter or other FPS stand-bys. I will bow down and kiss your feet if the game has no HUD whatsoever (and is still fun to play because you use other imaginitive ways to tell us the same information).
