Hey, venomfool, do you feel better wearing your white hood and robe instead of a Nike logoed T-shirt?

I bet you're a smash hit with all the ladies with that pointy-hat, Halloween look.

Damn, I thought that said "Gears of War" the first time I looked. Got excited and stuff.

Venomhed, if I remember correctly, I think the series is relatively popular in Europe. That could possibly explain it.

Is SEV any good? I haven't seen any reviews yet. I loved SEIV and did try the demo for SEV but I think there was some kind of bug in it and it was limited to 100 turns or something.

Every single person complaining in this thread will try the demo. The vast majority (I'll say over 90 percent) of them will buy the full game.

This many people don't continually complain about a game without harboring a secret desire to play it.

You heard it here first.

Sony will not go bankrupt because of the PS3. Console gaming is the only entertainment consistently showing market- and mindshare gains--above movies as well. The PS has a loyal fanbase, especially in Japan. Sony itself is a brand on par with other "heritage brands" like Coca-Cola. No one is raving about the XBox changing their lives--it's just another new console as well.

Put all this together and it really doesn't equal Sony going bankrupt. Settle down.

OK, I'm sure this has been discussed at some point long ago, but I need to know NOW: how do I get rid of this bloody pop-up that shows every time I come to Blues?

I'm using Firefox, which kills pop-ups everywhere else EXCEPT here. What gives?

Actually, S, if you've hung around the Internet for any amount of time you'd know that it's the racist right that most vocally calls for civil war in America. And they're quite open about it.

Just sayin'.

Might not mean much if it's as supported as Massive's previous Ground Control II was--which was basically no support at all. The game just died, breathtaking graphics and all.

I can't say I trust Massive any longer.

Is Jack Thompson also against this game?

I would assume he would have to be since here is a game which is explicitly a "murder simulator." But all I can ever think of having heard him protest are the non-war game shooters.

I believe this demo also comes with a 45-minute time limit. No idea why that would be as it's an RTS, not turn based.

I already have the demo and tried it but was unimpressed. Controls were clunky and half the time I couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do. And then when it came time to add buildings to the base structure, I really got lost. Couldn't find things, couldn't select troops from within structures, couldn't quite figure out how to mine for resources, etc. All this while under pressure thinking I had only 45 minutes made for an unsatisfying experience.

I'll give it one more go at some point, though.

I found the demo puzzling and frustrating--so much so that I didn't quite finish the ED side and never got to the LC side.

The instructions on what to do (such as where to move your men given the large amount of impassable terrain) were poor, as was the base building stuff. I couldn't find buttons and such. Then the tiny bit of combat I did see was quite plain and boring.

Worst of all? The demo's 45-minute time limit. Given all the floundering around I did just trying to orient myself to the controls and such, I was feeling very rushed. Really killed the gameplay experience for me.

I might give it one more go if I can tear myself away from Quake 4 and FEAR.

Thanks for becoming the Voice of the Forum, genius.

Oh, I think that one belongs to you. Rather handily.

From now on, we will be sure to run all our topics of discussion by you first, to make sure they carry the Silent Sorrow stamp of approval. OK?

Why would you have to do that? I was merely voicing an opinion. Though not as grindingly often as you, of course.

Btw, your complaining over what other people post on here annoys me. So how are you going to deal with that?

Recognizing you for the Internet nerd you are will be about the extent of my action.

Done posting as though you have no life yet?

Creston

Believe me, I know. We all know.

Man, I can't believe how many of you are posting about pre-ordering vs. going to the store.

Who cares either way?

It's really not in the least bit important. If you want to pre-order, fine. If you don't, fine.

Why it warrants all this discussion, and in the case of a couple of posters, actual anger ("fuck all the game stores!"), is beyond me. It's annoyingly nerdy. Let's all just get over it, OK?

Hate to nitpick, but I believe Madden's line is "boom!" not "bam!" "Bam" is Emeril the chef.

I hear it's some sort of spyware. Should I be worried? If I install the demo and then later delete it, will Starforce be removed as well?

#17 (Fang). Yes, I'm quite aware that the US stepped in after France was getting beaten in Vietnam. Oddly enough, the US government at the time seemed just as ignorant as the French one in deciding to take up the torch of continued imperial aggression. The US then proceeded to run away from Vietnam. So I'm not sure what point you're making as the result was still the same.
