No it wasn't the steam engine - lol. (and sorry to be boring but I believe the steam engine was a great invention).

No it's not Stan Meyer. This was late 70's time frame. I Don't really subscribe to many conspiracy theories but found that one 'interesting', just can't remember the chaps name - sorry. If you can beleive what you read this chap had working prototypes, ongoing patent apps etc. The engine/motor unit was apparantly compact, simple and cheap to produce (unlike the current 'fuel cell' technology that's being experimented with).

The 'story' goes he had shown it to the large motor car corps mainly in the states, somehow the US govt got drift of it and didn't like the fact that such an invention would (could?) de-stabilise the world economy. Whether deliberately or otherwise the oil producing arab nations got hold of the info, saw it as a massive threat to their gross national incomes and acted on it.

There were two endings to this conspiracy, one the guy was paid an obscene amount of money to keep stom, withdraw his patent apps, destroy paperwork and prototypes and two he was forced to do the above then assasinated.

Either way, the man apparently just vanished, not been heard from or seen since.

Hmm, read a couple of your posts.......

Whilst I am in no position to comment fully (I'm not an ardent political follower, in the UK where I live, or in the US, main reason being all politics is mainly BS and not representative of the people, and no I'm not a commie) You are really not in a position to comment, after all what do you know? Just what the govt want's you to know and what they have accidently let slip.

Very, very few people know the entire story of 'anything'. Look at JFK (unless I'm wrong) nobody knows for sure what happend there. Yes there are theories but what about absolute proof? (I suggest that any evidence that did exist is long gone, as in destroyed)

There are very many injustices, coverups, subterfuge etc that we don't know about and perhaps never will know about.

Have you heard the one about a north european (sweden, denmark, finland, can't remeber which one) resident that happend to be an inventor? His area of speciality was 'green' fuel. This person developed a process whereby water (as in good ol H2O) was used as fuel (and no, it was not the cumbersome crap that we currently have) the engine unit was neat, compact, efficient and a sure fire winner.

Apparently (or so I have _read_) this guy was 'assasinated' by what can only be described as 'the major oil producing countries'. True or false? I have no idea. Who could say for sure? Will there ever be documents 'coming to light' about this story? Who knows...

One thing that I do beleive is that people should be more 'enlightened' and that any 'closed' society should be forced open (wake up and smell the coffee if you will). Such societies include all the arab and some far east states, all fanatical religions (on that subject, I believe that religion in general is a very BAD thing, lets face it religion was invented for control purposes only and that remains the same today, don't you find it amazing how many dictators incorporate 'god' like worship and songs in their regimes).

Hmm 'jesus' is that the time! I wanted to carry on but it's waaaayyyyyy to late (here in the UK) to still be on my high horse!

g'night,
Laffer.

Yo Blue (and evry1 else!)
Been reading your page since the beginning! Infact yours is the site that I read most as it has the right 'mix' for me.

I really don't like the ads at all, but if it's what you have to do to keep your head above water then fine, I will take it in my stride.

However, is there no way you can get less imposing ads with the same return?

I am unsure of your personal status but assume that you do this 'fulltime', and it is your livelihood. If so keep the ads but keep them as minimally pervasive as possible.

I have to say I was gobsmacked to see the movie ad thingie.........

Cheers,
Laffer

Trivialise all you want. Blame the media etc etc.

I for one still see this as a horrific act of undeserved violence. I happened to be off ill from work that day...... my wife phoned me and said turn on the TV - you won't beleive whats happening.

I did so and watched the whole thing unravel (including seeing the second plane strike 'live')

I cannot tell you how greatly this whole thing upset me. My cracking point was seeing actual normal everday people much like myself (and most others) flinging themselves from the towers........

I for one still offer heartfelt condolences to those families affected.
