If you can play this game for more than 5 minutes without crashing it's a bloody miracle. This game must have had about 10 minutes of QA, all on the same hardware. Amateur release.
What color is the sky in your world? Corporations, American or otherwise, look at the bottom line. The bottom line is that labour is cheaper in other countries (amongst other things). Welcome to planet Capitalism, please bend over.
I had the same problem...How many thousands of employees does EA have and they can't even put out a proper installer? Anyway, thanks Ant for the solution.
Blizzard makes quality games and offers quality service. Their dedication is unparralled in the gaming industry. Many developers could learn a few lessons from them (Valve).
So far I have experienced very little problems with WOW and I am having a great time. They deserve all the props they can get!!
...Considering how many people played on the first day. They will have these problems solved in days, not weeks. I for one have not had to wait in queue and have not experienced any lag. There was some downtime last night which was good in the end. It allowed me to do other things, such as finish HL2 (now there's a botched launch!!!).
I'm getting together with a few friends tonight and we are going to LAN it up! Should be fun. I'm going to try to get on the Uther server (I dunno, I just like the name)
Fucking Valve is going to get an earfull from me! I can't even get the game installed!!!! Fucking STEAM is a half-baked idead that needs alot of work. I paid $70 CDN for this and I can't even install it. If I can't get it installed in 1 hour this is going back to the store. Way to go Valve!
worldofwarcraft.com is currently being hammered into oblivion as we speak. I really hope I get to try this otherwise I don't think I will buy the game without knowing what it is like.
