News Comments > Blizzard Dropping Windows XP and Vista
13. Re: Blizzard Dropping Windows XP and Vista Feb 19, 2017, 08:41 Bill Borre

Are there any coders browsing the forum? I'm curious about the technical aspect of dropping XP support for a game as old as World of Warcraft. I'm assuming that they aren't going to be redeveloping the old game code for WOW, which otherwise would run fine on XP, so doesn't dropping support for XP effectively only take a stance of EXCLUDING xp users on WOW?

Payday was a shooter? I thought it was a crime driving game sort of like GTA.

Wow. They've been working on it for five years and we haven't heard a word about it? They're certainly keeping it under wraps.

They must've really been resisting those commercial residuals back in 2000.

How does the backpack work? It provides buoyancy to the wearer to keep them at the surface area of the loose snow like a small balloon?

I guess I just don't see why the avalanche wouldn't bury the backpack along with the wearer. Also, if one fainted or lost consciousness I'm assuming that you could still suffocate in the snow as the backpack would be elevated and the wearer could be face down.

I'm not sure I understand the librarian's justification for the fraudulent behavior. He says they didn't want to have to buy the books back in the future, but if no one checks it out in 1-2 years, wouldn't that probability be low?

It astonishes me that LEGO has seized upon digital entertainment trends over these last years when Marvel (Disney) and DC (Time Warner), with all that content, ignore it.

I don't understand the implications of owning Machinima for the DC properties. The article was kinda sparse. Anybody got an idea as to why Warner Bros would pay 100 million for Machinima?
