all i have to say is listen to your beta testers! whats with these companies have are they ignorant or do they just not care about the games they are making (which is more than likly) AC2, AO, and E&B all these beta testers yelling out that the game is broke and they arnt happy. and the companies release it to the public only to have it basicly die 2-4 months down the road.

these games are not likly to recover for over a year or more if ever.. take the extra time to listen to those you invited to play so that the game be great!

so far World of Warcraft is looking to be the game we all want as blizzard is actually communicating on its boards and talking to its community.

yea the net was free way back when there were just barley 2-3 million people that used it.. now that theres damn near 40 to 50 million users and climbing.. to those who keep bitching about it use to be free get the fook over it. hell i got a free sample of food the other day outside of my local kroger doesnt mean that everything in the building is free also! (but it is if you grow it yourself! :P)you guys keep remembering the old days when the internet was still in experimental stages and there were no major sites except for fansites hosted by people like gamespy yet they have thrived and survived on the net where most have failed. i challenge the complainers to find any other site that offers the quality and quantity of gaming services that gamespy does.

Its called paying for convenience. fileplanet offers the same files to those who dont pay but your gonna have to take a back seat to those who do. personally i dont see a problem with this. you will never convince those who are simply to broke, to greedy or stingy with thier money.. (lets not mention all the warez dudes out there who think EVERYTHING should be free they rarly if ever, pay for anything)

ive been around since the doom days and the only way of keeping track of games were the 100's of postit notes and anything you can get your hands on in the area of your computer wound up with some kinda ip on it

then came kali/dwango/khan and a few other smaller services.. all those were wiped out by a small program called quakespy. this one program singlehandedly brought all the gamers togeather so that we didnt have to search for all those ip's to servers that "might" still be up.

i personally applaud gamespy and thier crew for what they have done for internet gaming. the fact that they can now sit back and be the big cat of online gaming is not only a testament to what they have done for the gaming community and internet gaming as a whole but also the fact that they will go above and beyond for thier loyal customers by getting them exclusive demos and beta accounts. 90% of these other freesites simply emulate what gamespy started back in the quake days with a simple program called quakespy and a webpage called planetquake.

as some stated earlier nothing is free bandwidth is expensive and the amount of online gamers now vs 8 years ago has grown to astounding numbers where 10,000 to 50,000 people use to download a file wasnt a big deal the gaming scene didnt have the numbers it does now.. but now you get places that are hitting 300,000+ downloads for SINGLE files let alone the massive archive that fileplanet hosts and offers for your enjoyment FOR FREE.

i would much rather pay 60 bucks a year for a Superior service on 24/7 than wait for some service where i have to wade through popup after popup only to be told FILE NOT FOUND and have to refresh 500 times to get the page to load so i can actualy download at 10k (if im lucky)

as someone said in an earlier post.. you dont like it then ignore it. fileplanet is simply doing a service for its members one that i find many other sites both paying and free lack in both quality and quantity.

What is with these companies.. CO-OP is huge. it allows us to play small groups of friends togeather at a lan.. 1vs1 just doesnt cut it for games like these. co-op makes it definatly more interesting for those home/office lans when you cant get a large group up.

no co-op means a no buy product for me. ive played it some on xbox with a friend (didnt beat it or get very far i wanted to wait for the pc version.. sorry controllers suck for shooters!) reguardless though.. if they dont add co-op i wont buy it.

sounds good on paper to bad thats not how it worked in reality. if you think differently then feel free to fly me to where the game was developed and ill spend as much time as you wish pointing it out. the targets do shoot you while falling and they have the same fatal flaw that all Unreal Engine base games have and thats they know where your at, at all times, dont believe me pick up a flag in UT2003 and go hide in some remote location.

U2 is no different once they know your in the area its auto aim time. in the one level where you had to fight to get across the bridge i put my sniper crosshairs on an enemy that didnt know i was there. guess what he became activated and started dodging me. it go to be rather funny.

your games a joke and the reviews from most of the sites are telling the tale. U2 has gotten more bad reviews than it has good ones. but im sure you can give pcgamer an exclusive so you can get a 90%

feel free to ask any questions about the game if feel so strongly that we havnt played it. ill be more than happy to post a response. i stand by my convictions about this game because ive played through the entire thing in about 7 hours for a game thats been worked on for damn near 4 years 7 hours of game play is pathetic!

Thats IF and a might big IF stalker doesnt go the same route. i made a huge post on thier boards. dont go to all this trouble and make the game ultra realistic looking then give us guns that are completly unrealistic. it doesnt take half a clip to kill a guy standing still. if they go that route then the games dead before its out.

the reason most have found this boring is because the gaming public has gone more toward realism. they want guns to feel like guns they want thier opponents to act as real as possible. even halflife would get a bad review if it came out now simply because the age of unrealistic shooters and guns are passing. your most played shooters on line are realism sims (take that in a broad term) the days when you shoot half a clip into 1 critter to kill it is over thats not satisfying anymore.

people want to outsmart, out think and out shoot thier opponets as was said.. we have grown up in our tastes but the games and publishers still dont know what it is we wont.

why are the most played games on the net Tactical Shooters?(even if some are arcadish) because thats what the people want to play. had they released unreal 2 with co-op support and ai that worked togeather instead of just shooting near 100% accurate no matter the distance. this game would probally be one of the biggest sellers ever.

but they didnt do that. even UT2k3 was recieved only lukewarm simply because the days of the fantasy shooters are numbered the weapons are going to have to be powerful and ground shaking in order to keep our attention.. if you have to waste half a clip killing another human opponent then we are out of here.. thats unrealistic and we simply dont care for it anymore.

now there are those that still enjoy playing that type of game and there will always be. but they are falling far behind and fewer and fewer remain. people want a sophisticated shooter with weapons that feel like weapons made by Remington and S&W, not nerf and tyco.

i stick to my firm belief that developers should bring in a target audience that has nothing to do with the industry and have them test thier game out in 3 stages. when its first playable.. when content is in. and then when bugs are fixed. this way they can get an oppinion of thier game from real gamers not someone who wants an exclusive and is willing to give a good review for it.

take Asherons Call 2. 48,000 beta testers and about 35,000 of them were telling the development team what was wrong or why this was no good. the developers NEVER responded, they NEVER listened, and they never replied to any requests. 2 months later im getting an email in my box asking me what they can do to get the beta testers that didnt buy the game to get back in. well first thing you should have listened. now AC2 is on the rocks they have NO WHERE near the amount of people they expected and from what i understand its a complete failure by thier original projections. all because the developers were out of touch with thier fans.

100% agree with you. this game needs to be recalled and given to another house before its released. if they release it like it is its a dead game and a real shame.

what really truly stuns me is that they dont test the game on a small group of diverse gamers. they test in house which is always a huge mistake because your not impartial no tester is gonna walk up and say im sorry man but this game really stinks.. they would loose thier job. they are simply gonna tell em what they wanna hear. bug #49991-a9 on level 8 is fixed blah blah blah.. get someone to test your games before you release them please!

serious sam didnt pretend to be something its not. it told you exaclty what you were getting and the developers were upfront with the public and stated that serious sam 1 & 2 were simply showcases for the engine that neither game was made to be taken "seriously"

instead of discussing how i obtained the game lets discuss the game itself instead of flaming each other.

and my comparison of U2 to SS, SS1 & 2 were mindless shooters but they were fun mindless shooters and had several original ideas and the games themselves were ground breaking at the time. pick another game where you can litterally walk through an entire city with no loading and face 100's if not 1000's of creatures all detailed. i applaud the makers of those games because they did something that everyone else said couldnt be done. (how many games have you faced off against a 30 story 4 armed monster? i can only count 2) reguardless at the time when they came out SS introduced something new to the genre and that was the fact that massive levels and massive amounts of creatures could exsist at the same time.

Unreal 2 offers NOTHING. everything in Unreal 2 you have seen in previous games. short of its grapics U2 offers nothing to the genre and is really pathetic as a game its mediocre and honestly the last 2-3 hours i played it i just wanted it to be over thats how bad it was. and i LOVE first person shooters they are my favorites. ive played pretty much everything from doom to descent from duke to hexen from quake 1 to quake 3 from rainbow 6 to delta force 3 ive played most if not all first person shooters that have been on the market. we all have our favorites.

im not knocking the game just to be doing it. im stating the truth because for a game thats been developed for 3-4 years this is bad. it should be renamed Diakatana 2! (probally spelled that wrong)

i downloaded it and yes i completed it. quite simply its not worth the money to go out and spend 40 or even 50 bucks for this game. it should have been single player for UT2k3 unlike some i dont have large amounts of cash to throw away on games that suck so i download before i buy. im not gonna argue with you about its legality but i say that legend should be ashamed for this game. even the reviews are coming back ho-hum gamespy gave it a 74% and thats about accurate.

your first 5 minutes of fighting is exactly the same through out the next few hours no breaks in it. just one autoaiming critter after the next the sad part is that they call this AI when in fact its not.

this game tried its best to be like halo but it forgot to use all the things that made halo great. grapics are on par with one another. gameplay halo has it beat hands down. ive not played a single player game this bad since i picked up redfaction.

(Return to Castle Wolfenstien was more exicting than this was)

at best this game should be sold like the Serious Sam games were. 19.95 its a showcase for the engine not a serious single player game (and i enjoyed SS1 and 2! and have both the boxs in my closet!)

The AI is dumb as a brick. you have 2 choices of AI either 98% accurate (think aimbot in CS) or the charge forward constantly reguardless of the danger (even to the point of walking off a cliff and commiting suicide)

the ai is truly pathetic. the game obviously tried to copy what halo did right but they got it all wrong. your teammates dont work with you they stand around and die while the enemy dodges you. put your sniper crosshairs on an enemy soldier and watch him dodge away even though he cant see you he knows your aiming at him.

pretty grapics and thats about the only enjoyment you will get out of the game. 15-20 hours of gameplay is a lie.. its more like 5 - 8 hours on hard. my suggestion dont buy this game it has nothing in it but pretty grapics. NO REPLAYABILITY!

What is with this single mission crap that all the games are putting out latly? hell i miss the days of quake and doom where you got an entire quarter of the game... 1 mission is no where near enough to decide if the game is worth getting.

last but not least the game still has some serious bugs going on.. fix your movement code please! for some reason it just doesnt feel like my movement is natural.

overall it looks like it could be a blast if it lets you play co-op with your friends in single player. that could be about the only thing that saves this game.

heh so bungi can do something on an X-box that ID cant do on a pc? halo was awesome for co-op, and i hope more games that had come out would impliment thier style. i guess when halo comes out for the pc and outsells doom or unreal2 they will sit there and go damn we should have put in co-op.
