Developer FlyingLab recently announced that their release date would be available at PAX in Seattle.
hope it's soon to take advantage of Pirates Of The Caribbean and before Disney's own pirate mmog tie-in.

because (E3 happening) later in the year gives us time to be further along in our development cycle
"Pbbbbbbbbbbt".
The month that would have been wasted on an E3 demo will just be wasted on an extra month of cubicle Nerf wars until the spectre of crunch time forces everyone into a panicked dev frenzy... just like before.

Next up - Trudy discovers and vanquishes the Mythical Man Month:
"If we throw 10,000 programmers on a project, we can develop a new game every 3 minutes!" gushes Trudy Muller, Director of Corporate Crumbcake for Electronic Arts.

wondering why the ESA didn't "throw the 'trade only' restriction out the window, open it up to actual gamers, charge them enough to make big bux for the ESA, ramp up attendance from 40k to 100k plus, and make it an event where publishers market to consumers as well as the trade,"
Because the stuffed corporate turds who run the major publishers have no interest in, nor clue about, games, gaming, or gamers.

The CEO of EA couldn't install and play an EA game if his life depended on it.

Don't think it's legal to do that in the US izit?
Something about requiring formal, signed, hardcopy documentation in case of dispute.

what's odd is that "the administration" fought hard against this very type of thing in the
Kyoto Protocol - United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change
which would have required all countries to adopt mandatory pollution standards.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyoto_Protocol

The US and Australia were the only countries in the world to refuse, the main objection being that foreign countries had no right to dictate another country's domestic policy.

Now once again we have the potential for foreign laws to dictate US citizens rights... and the administration is in Favor???

the show's refocus means that we will no longer need to take time away from our development process to create demos for the show
lol, all the dev houses are spouting this horsebaloney, implying that projects will now have more time for polish and maybe even release earlier rather than wasting it on a demo.

Guess what, the games will STILL be delayed the same amount of time and be released with the SAME number of fatal bugs.

I forget the name of the Law but the analogy is:
you always use up 100% of whatever time/space is available.

When you had a 20 Gig hard drive, you filled it up.
When you got a 50 Gig hard drive, you filled it up.
Now you have a 300 Gig hard drive, and it's already full!

All of us at EA would like to thank you ignorant saps for your money
and hope that your enthusiasm for these games extends to
our current lineup,
which will also be cancelled once you invest enough money.

If you have further questions about your account or the shut down of these services, well, go to hell because we don't give a damn about you or gaming in general. Hell, if we could make more money selling our kids to child molesters, we'd do that.

Fuck you,
Electronic Arts

very lame.
Subscription Fees + Fees for the best items and stats + ...
don't forget the likelyhood of IN GAME ADS breaking immersion every few minutes to Sell you crap.

If I can just Buy all the best character stats and equipment, what's the point of playing at all, other than to play sims dress-up and chat with other players? Has Codemasters changed Archlord to be just another graphical chatroom with a tissue-thin "game" attached to it?

All these fees and the game will still have the same bugs and poor customer service as every other mmog. As a hard core 24/7 mmog Fanatic who loves the genre, my interest in supporting garbage like this is NIL.

With all the bsod, ctd, freezing, and other assorted fatal bugs in pc games that are made FOR windows, it's amazing any pc game runs at all on a mac after going thru yet another level of emulation / translation / whatever-ation.

They should make a mmog out of the Dungeon Siege world/saga/IP.
Like Warcraft it's well known enough to have a fan following.

And after the movie EVERYONE will want to play!

With comments like theirs, Ken Levine and Tom Ohle might not even get invited to the new Private Exclusive Members Only E3 Yacht Club and Gated Community.

Is UGO/Blue prestigious enough to even be allowed to -post- E3 news?
I mean, after all, they have standards to maintain and can't let just anyone into the club, can they.

Hm, to demonstrate his satirical point, i wonder why Colbert didn't suggest viewers goto the "Stephen Colbert" or "The Colbert Report" or "Jon Stewart" or "The Daily Show" or "Comedy Central" entries on wiki and vandelize those?

Hypocrisy maybe?

We tried as hard as we could to meet our self given deadline
Just a thought -
now that E3 is essentially dead, what excuse will developers use for product delays.
No more "omg we wasted 2 months kludging together an E3 fluff demo!" .
