speaking from years of 1st hand experience...
A job in QA (Quality Assurance) as a Game Tester is usually a spirit crushing, mind numbing, desperately tedious experience.
Normally you don't even play the entire game, but are assigned some small section which you play over, and over, and over. And over. And over. Looking for bugs and documenting them.
Pay ranges from $8 - $12 an hour, usually temporary part-time over a period of a few weeks for any one game, and most often you're not an employee of the company making the game but are a contractor with some 3rd party temp employment agency that treats people like animals and tries to cheat them out of pay.
