y'know, with the obscene money that even mediocre pro athletes get these days ($126 M for barry zito!?) a $10M handout doesn't even shock any more.

Unless ofcourse MS stops bullshitting us all and ports it to XP
that would be mucho kool but i suspect it's technically impossible. maybe they could do a "DX10 Lite" mod/upgrade to XP which included only a partial feature set of full DX10.

Why don't companies make fundamental handling changes like this Optional? Terrain interaction is just a User Interface thing, they could easily offer both and make it selectable.

howcum nobody's put together a Beer Tycoon sim, or some mmog with npcs like Sir Arthur Guinness giving out quests to fetch (or grow?) the Hops of Eternal Goodness or whatever and serving Guinness(tm) branded products at his in-game pub.

Most beer companies have rich old histories filled with eccentric characters that might fit well in a game world.

This sounds like something Richard Garriott would be into.
Maybe after Tabula Rasa signups pay for it eh?

And it is supposed to start snowing in the next few hours.
Wednesday it's supposed to rain in N. California which normally means the front will pass over the mid-west in a day or two so look forward to crappy weather for the next couple days.

graphene, a one-atom-thick sheet of carbon
We're one step away from the sci-fi ideal:
the ultimate thug's garrotte - a true MONO-FILAMENT one atom thick string of carbon atoms that can literally cut thru anything.

Flu Virulence is nothing more than Evolution in Action.

The weak and infirm, who would have otherwise died, have in recent decades been artificially propped up by bio-technology to live waaay beyone their normal useful span, so Natural Selection has gotten more Virile to compensate.

While they may get sick, Normal Healthy Breeders will survive just fine to perpetuate the genepool, it's the cripples and misfits who will perish, as well they should.

Nature, though it may be postponed, will not be Denied.

Associate Producer:
WHO YOU WORK WITH THE MOST:
As a producer, you are the glue between all departments. You help keep communication going and feature teams close. You walk the office, interacting with people and figuring out who needs help. You work most closely with the other producers in both the California and Shanghai offices. Late in the day, you have a conference call with the production staff in the Shanghai office.

These people are probably trying to buy gold and accounts, and then wondering why the account they just bought gets jacked
exactly, these are mostly players who are dancing on the edge of safety and legality to begin with, then when their accts get ganked they are all surprised and upset.

oh golly the US complains to the WTO (World Trade Organization), the same international regulatory group that the US regularly thumbs its nose at when IT is held in violation of trade practices.

Turnabout is fair play, bitch.

Basically what's pissing off US Corporations is this - China is now doing EXACTLY the same thing that US Corps have been doing for centuries, namely ripping off copyrights and content and stealing everything under the sun because... they can.

Boo_hoo_hoo poor US Corporations - your shitty karma is finally coming around full circle to bite you in your ass.

Yeah its a bad deal.
And if you've never been there you don't know how limited some peoples options are.

Always amusing to read the comments from spoiled rich pricks(*) who've never had to work for Anything, who've ridden into big money jobs based solely on mommy and daddy's reputation and influence.

(*)among the first ones up against the wall when the revolution comes.

the Lego policy is interesting - ancient weaponplay (like swords) is ok and futuristic (like ray guns) is as well, but no 20th century weapons are allowed in their products.

That just feels right somehow and a simple rule bypasses a whole host of product design issues without really hampering their ability to do combat.

China Mobile has announced that it’s subscriber base rose to 310,000,000 (yep, 310 million people) by the end of February, which is more people than the entire population of the United States
Remainds me of this video:
http://www.videosift.com/video/Eye-opening-Stats

"The 25% of the population in China with the highest IQs
is greater than the total population of North America.
Translation: they have more Honors kids than we have kids."
