if you get it on Steam, do you still need Uplay?
Yup, just like any other newer Ubi games
Won't run without Uplay

Anyone have any thoughts on a GTX 1060. I'm tossing up either Asus or MSI at this point. Any other brand recs - excepting Sapphire and Gigabyte as my experiences with them have been bad? I've seen some good reviews for some other brands like HIS, Zotac, PNY, but don't know anything about them.
I think those 2 are your best bet Cutter
I've been hearing pretty good things about the MSI customer service. I believe they have a repair center in Mississauga.
Asus will be probably the most expensive.
I personally have never had issues with any of my video cards so I can't comment on their customer service. I am using a Gigabyte G1 GTX970 currently.
I've had Evga, ASUS and MSI in the past.

Cyber Monday USED to be a thing, now it's just marketing bunk. Everybody just adopted a "Friday-through-Monday" sale period instead of one or the other.
Yeah pretty much. If anything some things were on sale online for a better price on Friday than they are today.

The game has been on the Steam top 10 selling list since it came out. The reviews on the Steam page look very positive as well.

I have it on my wishlist and will be picking it up down the road, but I have an overwhelming amount of new games to play as is, not enough free time.

I think he meant in comparison to SupCom1 it was a disappointment. SupCom2 isn't too bad but imo doesn't even come close to SpuCom1. It was scaled way back so consoles can run it too, as well as people can play it with controllers.
Unfortunately it wasn't a very good or successful game on the console either.
I don't think strategy is a genre that would do well on consoles, but who am I to tell. I am sure those that make RTS games for consoles did their research before they develop games for the platform.

if anyone's on the fence about this title, it's currently 32 dollars on origin when you use the code TITAN20 at checkout; it stacks with the current black friday sale.
Wow that price didn't take long to come down.
Is the game popular online?

Got into a match and got my ass handed to me on a silver plate. Was a good reminder why I didn't buy the game the first place.
I am sure it is a great game, but obviously not for me.

Blue didn't mention it above but the Origins Edition of the game ($59.99) is on sale 40% off $34.99 until the 28th of Nov.
Good time to buy the game if you wanted it. Link here

Oh wow, not for me.
What kind of CPU and video card do you have?
I am running an i5-2500k OC to 4.5 and 970GTX.
Looking at the CPU utilization it is only at 30% load.

From the menu screen to load into game it literally takes a couple of minutes.
It is a pretty late game I am loading in, nearly at the very end of my first play through but still the load time is ridiculously long.

I didn't test this out, but I really hope the patch improved the load times a bit. It is ridiculously long, and I have the game installed onto my SSD!

I didn't play as much as Half Elf (damn you Civ6) but what I've played I like the game.
There's so much details, I didn't know you can do half the stuff Half Elf talked about in his write up.
Just buy it, you won't regret it.
It also looks absolutely gorgeous on my system and runs very smooth, although I haven't built any humongous theme parks yet, so we'll see how is the performance with big parks.

a bit fabricated in feel.
You can always do your own research and check out some gameplay videos and decide yourself.
I personally have no idea about RCTW hence I did not say anything bad about the game either.
It might be good, but for now my money is on Planet Coaster

I got Civ6 from greenmangaming.
Right before the game came out they've e-mailed me a code to get 23% off or something, so it was a little more acceptable price than what Steam wanted for it.
Mind you I love the game so no regret buying it. I wish I can get some extra free time on sale somewhere. Just one more turn

Is this the good one? I can't keep them straight.

Planet Coaster is the good one and it unlocks tomorrow. Way too expensive atm - $60 - so I'll be waiting for it for a while.

Its $40.49 on steam right now, not $60.
He is in Canada that is why he sees the higher price
With the 10% discount it is $54CDN
I've had a few bucks from selling trading cards so the grand total came to $50CDN for me.
If the game will be half as much fun as the youtube vids suggest I'll have money's worth out of this game.
