Thoughts after slogging through 130+ messages:

"First time I've heard about this" != "HL2 will ship on time"

Why is there such inordinate trust in Valve, anyway? Half-Life was the only game they developed from scratch, right? That's not an extensive track record.

Does anybody else worry that if Half-Life 2 turns out to be garbage the suicide rate will go up?

My thoughts exactly. There sure are a lot of people investing their lives around a stupid game.

Oh well. At least all these posts help me whittle away time until lunch break.

Hmm.. is Blue's News really about to shut down due to lack of funding? Anyway, to those that are banging their heads for a Paypal link, why not just buy a t-shirt every so often? That way you can support Blue without him having to risk the "begger" tag. And later when those t-shirts start to pile up, you can just donate some away to the Salvation Army or your favorite nephew. Foster the young to read Blue's News!

I think it's a general concensus that pop-up ads equal necessary evil and audio ads equal homicidal tendencies.

More on pop-ups... so long as they are limited to one per session. Nothing drives me up the wall as much as pop-ups that spawn evil clones of itself whenever it gets closed.

** Example of acceptable pop-ups/unders: ESPN.com's Orbitz.
** Example of unacceptable pop-ups/unders: Your favorite pr0n site.

I don't know how effective it is, but I was sick of just blindly clicking (Unsubscribe) fifty times a day, so I signed up for the free reporting service at SPAMCOP.NET. It ain't no silver bullet, but it'll parse the e-mail header and send reports to the postmaster of whatever host(s) the spammers are using, which hopefully leads to cancellation of their service.
