I swear by the Cold-Eze type products, and in particular the Zicam mouth sprays. In the last year or so, my wife and I have traded a few colds. I've used the Zicam "goo" for three of the colds, and have gotten over the sypmtoms in 2-3 days...while my wife has them for about a week and a half. I used to be really skeptical about these sorts of things, but now I'm really sure that it works.

PS If you do use it, use the nose spray rather than the mouth gel. It's amazing how bad massive amounts of zinc can taste...

Nexus,

I agree about the NWN comments, but didn't you find the repetition of the textures tiring? Do they use other textures in the expansions? While I like the story in NWN, I wish there was some real variety of what I keep seeing....

Just wondering

I really enjoyed DS when it came out, but I'm not sure what I would feel about an expansion now. I've just now gotten around to playing NWN, and I really like the more involved character creation and abilities that are closer to D&D type gameplay. So, I'm not really sure if I would want to go back to the more basic hack 'n slash style.

But, the one place that DS has NWN beat hands down is in the variety of locations. Jesus....the locations/tiles are so repetitive in NWN! I'm in one of the last forests now, and it looks exactly the same as the first one. Same goes for castles, villages, dungeons, etc...

Well, I saw this article earlier, but I forgot to post my reaction. But, what the hell, since we are on the subject...

Here is my favorite line from this god-forsaken "interview":

"We did anticipate the pack mentality of detractors because there are always people who enjoy tearing things down instead of helping to build them up."

Nice. He sounds like a 6th grader who is criticizing the kids who make fun of him. I love how if we were disappointed with this game, it wasn't because of the product, but it was because we expected more. Well Gearbox, it sure as hell won't happen again when it comes to your games!

Hey Blue,

Don't know if you saw it, but you got a nice mention from Steve Bauman in Computer Games this month. He just pointed out how you were nice (or moral?) enought to ask that no one post links to any scans from the recent HL2 articles. I thought it was cool how he made sure to point out that there were some people who felt that scanned articles were not exactly fair to the editors and employees of those magazines. Just FYI and kudos on your stance...

Obviously I don't have a problem with anyone disliking or not looking forward to any game. What I do have a problem with are people who attack other people's posts and do so out of ignorance. (And then they act like they did nothing to provoke it...)

You loud-mouthed boring idiot....

Deus Ex used the Unreal engine. Your idiocy is matched only by your technical ignorance.

(please no angry...my Bablefish kaput, you change?)

Uh oh, I hope that isn't a concession due to the Xbox port. I understand that it builds tension to not be able to save at anytime, but this is starting to sound more like Resident Evil to me.

/not necessarily a bad thing for all, I know.

I am excited about this one. I really enjoyed Max Payne, I thought that the textures, performance and implementation of the "bullet-time" were all done really well. Granted, there wasn't a lot of replayability, but I seriously liked the time that I spent with it on the PC. The game world was so much more interactive than say...Unreal 2's. I hope this one only improves on the original!

Good one, Blue. That spam reminds me of the old story about the man who goes to the king holding a bag of "magic powder" and promises him that the powder will turn anything invisible. The king knows he is lying though, becuase he can still see the bag.
