I've had pc troubles and have a 3gig drive for C: right now, I haven't been able to install any of the game demos lately because I only have 250megs free on C: drive. When clicking on these huge game demo .exe's lately I get errors about not enough space, obviously trying to write to a temporary directory on C: to get the installer started.

Well this demo is the first thats worked for me in a while and I hope I enjoy the game.

this game sucks worse than the 2nd & 3rd movies combined.

I somehow got into the beta. No point to the game at all, just run around, its really fuckin stupid.

moonbender, I started a new game before I uninstalled and went after the pirates right from the start. With the first little piece of shit boat I was able to defeat all 8 pirates in like 45 minutes.

and yes it is the same, every town is the same ordeal, every 5 minutes you are repeating what you did in the previous 5 minutes.

does this 'fix' give you more to do?

with only 5-6 things to do in this game its WAY to repetitive. the game is good for 2-3 plays and thats it.

content, content, content - we want f'n content. The game was short, now fill in those gaps in between chapters and get DoD out the door.

screw the bells and whistles, they are adding old features as a fascade. Wasting time on fucking LIGHTS when you could be getting games/mods out the damn door.

i knew someone was going to do that... does something really have to be spelled out to not be jumped on. I don't EVER spend $50 on a meal, so no I do not go hungry.

i don't think it's been mentioned yet but the worst part of HL2 is the RESALE value, screw the replay value. Under the Steam EULA you are not able to sell your game. Its $50-60 flushed with no return. Lots of people buy the game the day it is released and beat it then sell it for $10-15 less. This is a shitty practice that I will not be part of again, I will not purchase something I cannot resell.

The uplink CD had only 1 level, not multiple. I still have my uplink cd, its what sold me Half-Life, running to walmart at 3am and paying $54.99 a year after release.

HL1 was so awesome because of what happened with the community. MODs and the like gave new life to the game in every aspect.

HL1 single player was fucking amazing, I still remeber how pumped I was after finishing the demo and running to walmart at 3am to buy it for $54.99. That was a year after its release, when the MP portion was up to par. I remember reading in the manual that Valve would give you a full retain refund if you didn't enjoy the game, for the first time in my life (for a purchase over $20) I threw away the receipt, I believed in the game that much.

This "suprise" had better be HL2DM, I can understand them not releasing it with the retail, it kinda ruins the SP experience. Jumping in MP and seeing/using all the guns ruined the game kinda for HL1, I jumped in MP about 1/2 through the SP game and I was blown away by the rocket launcher and crossbow, I hadn't found them yet in the SP and would have loved to not have seen them yet.
