This just shows a lazy half assed attitude towards gaming and game development. Period. This isn't about consoles vs PC.

The same can be said about consoles, in reverse. I am personally tired of seeing dumbed down games coming from the colsoles, over to the PC. If they are too lazy to develop games with rich graphics and controlls that go firther then 12 buttons and an analog controller, maybe they should develop games for mobile platforms instead? Those gamers put up with all kinds of crap!

I don't think you can "blame" one platform, whether it be a console or a desktop machine. He is just making an excuse, showing the true colors of lazyness. Too bad gamers on all platforms have to suffer....

I think the problem here is that they are making games to sell to young Americans who think bling bling and 21 inch wheels are what make a car... I know the people who play these gamezs, I have seen them play these... it's not pretty. They spend an hour in the "shop", selecting a new paint job and choosing the right rims, then race for 5 minutes.

EA is capitalizing on this instead of developing a new game. As long as these kids buy this crap we are stuck waiting for a real racing game to appear. Too bad for them other developers will catch onto this and possibly.... hopefully, fill the gap...?

By leveraging the rapid pace of advancement in PC graphics, videogames can now match and actually surpass the facial animation used in feature film and broadcast television production.

Interesting... so you can actually make a cell shaded game look better then a movie!?

I can't wait to hear the next tagline. Today it's "mext gen". But your building it for the Xbox360, which has been out for months now... but your calling it "next generation"... huh?

Taking into account AMD's "merger" with ATI, this is probably the safest place for Nvidia to be. Not good for us, but good for Nvidia. I do understand that they want to comply with vi$ta, and make the users [or is it "Lohohooosers"] happy, so they have shifted their attention; however, with a the new DX10/vi$ta only games coming out soon, it shows where the publi$her$ are going. They too want to play it safe. And hey, why can't EVERYONE plant a "ready for vista" sticker on their product? Just like we have already seen, this does not mean it will actually work with vi$ta, but it sells! Anyways, I do not think nvidia will release another driver for us. Ever.

Even though it *says* XP/Vista drivers for the 8800s, it looks like microsoft has abandoned all non vi$ta people, and I see this as Nvidia's excuse to stop making drivers for those who dont buy into the 8800 scheme. They will propbably talk about how the market is supposedly changing and whatnot...

It's funny to me personally. I just bought my new system a few months ago when the 7950 GX2 was the biggest and baddest. Dual core 6700, 2 gigs of ram, ASUS mobo... It was the absolute best you could buy, with the exception of more RAM. I had maxed out everything, and because of nvidia's decision, I am already obsolete! Think i'll buy a new PC? Ha! No fukin way. >D I'm probably going to start using a mac!

Alienware Area51-m Extreme System... The web site states an upgradeable GPU, but just how upgradeable is the GPU? Has anyone other than me even thought to ask? I have emailed falcon NW and they replied saying that the fragbook has 256 megs of video ram. I asked them "is that like shared system RAM, which my laptop uses now to have 64, or is that actual bideo ram? They said its all video ram. Dell said they were planning to put a similar 256 meg card in their notebooks by the end of the year, replacing their 128 meg GPU at present, which i would be more than happy with. But i have emailed all kinds of people at Alienware more than once, since they posted this "so called upgradable GPU" on their website and they have yet to reply. When i send email concerning other issues such as sales or tech support or anything else, they reply right away, which is great. But noone has even tried to answer one simple question YET! Just how upgradable is this supposed *upgradable GPU*? When i called to ask one person said he did not know, then i was put on hold forever. [i watched half an episode of Monster House until i realized i left the phone on hold, but it was on speaker the whole time! what a bastard...] So either i am living in the Bermuda triangle, or they are definitely trying to dodge the question.

Now i love the idea of gettin a laptop from a company that specializes in gaming systems. I figured it would maybe even be foolish not to. But when they make these posts, then fail answer one simple question about it, it makes me think twice about ever even using them to order anything, especially something i would like to upgrade-

Anyone else had any luck? Has anyone else even thought about this? The upgrade might not be all that upgradable at all....

NS isnt ruined... Its actually alot better. There is a new gameplay mode called Combat. At first i didnt like the idea of it, then i played it. Now i love it. Imagine Marine VS Marine and Aliens fighting Aliens! Well, there are servers with these gametypes. Lots of variations in gameplay all over the community just like these. And of course there are still tons of "standard" NS and "standard" Combat servers as well. [meaning nothng changed other than updates/changes made by the creators] And there are different weapons to use as well. The marines have grenades, the lerk has a bite weapon which everyone who plays lerk uses. [its actually kinda scary sometimes to see them flying directly at you, instead of hiding and using the GAS all the time] And various other changes. Overall, i enjoy it alot more. New content added, map changes, which are ALL good, tons of new stuff.

Now... the only down side to the entire game, is that it requires Steam. I have never had lag problems before since i have had cable and DSL, even ever since i played Tribes 1 [tribes 2 sucks BTW] but since i have played NS through Steam, i usually have a little. Steam takes up even MORE system resources [as if XP didnt hog enough!], so now even my 1.3 hghz machine with 256 megs of ram has lgameplay problems when playing through steam. And when i played some old NS just through WON servers... no problems- And i have spent many a night trying to get help from the forums. Problem is Steam hogs resources, thats all... So, just a heads up.
