XBox = Adults as Nintendo = Kids.
Adults = $$$ as Kids = $.
$$$ = 5x powers as $ = 5x less power.

Simple really. ATI just gave the respective companies what they asked for, I'm sure.

Yeah, I wouldn't call Bush's victory a landslide either. But it was a huge win considering the barrage of deceptive attacks from the majority of all media outlets: books, magazines, newspapers, CDs, TV, and even the big screen.

But then, all that made winning just that much sweeter.

Not only do I like this game, but I also like how the flashlight is separate from the weapons.

It isn't the best game I've ever played, but it's a great one.

There are far, far more people that enjoy single player experiences than there are that enjoy multiplayer.

Counter-strike looks exactly the same with a few extra details (pretty bland really) while Half-life looks awsome.

Since the id hasn't released a demo I'm considering warezing it as a demo before I buy it just to see how it'll run on my machine. I don't care how nice the shadows are implemented, if I have to play it at 640x480 I'll want a refund.

Can anyone give input on how it'll run on an AMD 1600, 512 RAM, ATI 9700?

Indeed, it was just a comment. I need not waste energy on an argument trying to convince the inconvincible. Bush haters are set in their ways and, in the end, it does not matter as Bush will be re-elected anyway.

We're talking HL2 here. They don't really need a PR stunt. It will be the best selling game ever along with Sims 2.

And stealing intellectual property is still stealing. I hope those arrested get stung really bad.

You seem to be under some illusion that all additional content beyond what came in the box was going to be free. That’s just plain wrong. The two differences between the content then and the content now: 1. You were going to be able to play it online with your friends, 2. You were going to pay for it, over and over every month.

So, the content is diminished now that you can’t play it with friends, but you’re only paying for it once. Consequently, how I prefer to the play the game anyway. Sounds like a decent trade off.

To say they should give it away free is ludicrous. To say the game shipped incomplete is ludicrous. To say a company should go ahead and run a service for months on end at a loss is ludicrous.

You do want Ubi soft to exist and make new great games don’t you?

That isn't the "real story". If you're going to pretend to be a "Video Game Historian", then you mind as well allow a few facts to enter your history.

Revenue - Expenses = Profit. No profit = can't keep service up. They simply were not going to make enough money to continue to keep Uru Live going. Period. All of the extra content, which you were going to pay for anyway with a monthly fee, is coming out separate of the service.

The way I see it, they're doing Uru fans (and developers) a favor.

Yes there are people out there who would pay for this. I'm one of them. I loved Bard's Tale, and I love Devil Whiskey.

You've played Far Cry from beginning to end yet have only played Painkiller in a demo. Can you seriously give an unbiased comparison of the two games?

Based on the demos I think Painkiller is more innovative, fun, and graphically appealing (looks nice and runs smooth on decent system as opposed to requiring high end system).

My bet is that Painkiller will sell more copies.

Hey Cheese Boy -

If I were talking about my sausage I'd never bring up the words "slim jim" but I guess the truth just had to burst out of you. Now we know why you're such a prick.

And before you get all choked up and teary, just chill back.

Brick -

I'm tired of the ass munch left who think we need to be tolerant and understanding of extreme Muslims and their "root causes" but can't be tolerant of people from the South who may say things a little different.

Now shove a puppy shake into it.

If you loved Bard's Tale then you have to check out Devil Whiskey. The project was original called The Bard's Legacy, but they changed the name from fear of legal issues.

A demo is already available and the full game will be released 10/30 (you will be able to transfer demo characters to full version). It plays almost exactly like Bard's Tale using more current technology for graphics of course.

Yay for S. Korea. It's nice to see a country we helped avoid the devastating effects of communism continue to thrive.

It would be interesting to compare the broadband usage of those in the south to the starvation deaths of their communist counterparts to the north.

I have no issues with forced registration. I'm licensing this game from them, and they have the right to know who I am. Remember, you do not own any of the games you are playing. If you disagree with their user agreement, then choose that when installing (well, just don't buy it).

Don't be so paranoid. They're only trying to curb theft. You won't end up on a government list to have your property ceased and your children turned into robots. The caribou will be ok too.
