Yeah, that was pretty good. I used to play that as well. Same story as Q3F though, no one can be found playing it. It's pretty bad.
I would add a few more details to what happened to Q3A and it's mods. From my memory, here are the details:
- Id hypes Q3A to death.
- Lots of Q3As are sold and everyone starts complaining about what's missing from Q3A.
- Id starts work on Q3A:TA and does two things to kill all gameplay and good will in the community: 1) Took too damn long to come out with TA (it was easily over a year) 2) Charged too much for it. The Q3A went *berzerk* over the fact that they felt it should be a free download. As a result, it was hardly purchased and generated little online traffic.
...and I think the rest of the historical details are accurate. Between Id's extreme bungling of the situation and CS's wild popularity, the Q3A, TA, and mod servers were **emptied over night**. It got ugly and quick.
