Well, Search is dead for the moment, not the error report either. Only took 59 minutes to kill Steam.

Yeah, i'm trying to bring up a list of FPS and RPGs on sale but it's not even loading. I get the store front and my wishlist, but even on the web I can't access it.

Want to see if they've put Doom 4 on sale yet.

Shadow of Mordor for 3.99 sounds great, if it would actually show up that price in the cart.

Glad to see with all their money, Valve still can't shoulder the burden of every PC gamer logging in to check their sales.

While I'm looking for a few games to buy on sale during the event (Both Dishonored games and Doom 4) I think GOG beat Steam already. I bought about a ton of games on GOG this month during their sale and I think I barely hit $20.

I even finally managed to get Dragon's Dogma for 11.99, which was a steal. I even got two games for free out of it.

GOG tore it up this summer.

You're missing the point. Or, perhaps more accurately, you're creating your own point.

What I'm saying is that GOG has the better sales. Granted, they won't be getting Dishonored or Doom 4 very soon (Though Bethesda seems to like them, so Doom...maybe one day), but they still offer massive discounts on games rather than the piddly 10-25% you see on Steam.

Some of my GOG purchases are titles that are also available on Steam, such as Xanadu Next, which I nabbed for 9.99, the complete set of Blood with its expansions (1.49), Ziggurat for 3.79, Stalker 1 and Stalker Clear sky for 2.49, and a measly 59 *cents* for Realms of the Haunting.

All of these games are on Steam, and I've never pushed the trigger on any of them in any Steam sale, but seeing prices that insane, I went for it.

And spent enough to get two free games.

So let me say it another way:

50 apples is better than 2 oranges.

I was interested in that E3 security article, but I moused-over the URL and it shows it's from Polygon, so I didn't bother. There's more "spin" on that site than every cable news network combined.

P.S. The average playtime is 30 hours, that doesn't feel "too short" to me. Mass Effect was 29, Fallout was 23, etc. I end up not finishing games like Fallout 4 and Witcher 3, because I get burned out long before that point. To me, "too short" would be 4-10 hours, which happens a lot nowadays.

30hrs isn't the problem. The real problem is that of that 30hrs, you spend 10 of it just sitting there reading text. I'm all for a great, epic, long-lasting story with deep background lore, but the amount of unspoken text in the game makes Planescape look like a 2 page internet fanfic.

Well of course we could've had cellphones earlier. Like most technology, Japan had it 15-20 years before we did. They had "smartphones" before Jobs even "invented" the iPhone, it's where he got the idea from.

Same with HDTV, progressive scan TV, and 1080p. I remember seeing a 20/20 report back in the late 80s talking about HDtv in Japan and I wondered if we'd ever get it.

So the KKK is in the trailer working alongside the Nazis...

Guess the writers never got the memo that the Klan is a masonic organization and Hitler was vehemently anti Freemason.

I was going to try it on my new 1060 I got last month, but holy cow...100+GB for a single player campaign less than 10hrs long? I found it hard to justify 50GB for Wolfenstein's campaign.

Maybe if you're into playing with hyper 20-somethings online I guess.

I loved Dirt 3, but everywhere on the forums people are saying this new one is a glitched-out mess. Think I'm going to wait a tad.

That is provided they are female...

8 star wars movies, 2 female leads. oh no, girls are ruining star wars.

i'd muse on why so many of you nerds have such a complex about girls and girl-coded concepts but it's not exactly rocket science.

Keep that up Nucas and the girl you're trying to impress on the internet might send you a private DM and make your dreams come true!

Amber Scott and Beamdog's problems with Mizhena in Dragonspear didn't teach them not to do this?

I'm guessing limp-wristed millennial backlash sure will, though.

Yeah, socialized medicine sucks. You guys pay $3500 a year on average for it? Barring any major problems your insurance may not cover. You know what I pay? Nothing. You know what everyone else pays in a socialized democracy? Nothing. Oh sure, it comes out of our taxes, but we choose to spend in on important shit like that. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad how right-wing extremists like you guys think something like socialized medicine is pure evil at several billion a year, but wasting a trillion dollars a year - still socialism - on the military industrial complex is just fine. Christ, you clowns don't know whether you're coming or going.

I used to be like you. For a long time.

Then I grew up.

This is probably to make it more inconvenient for friends to share accounts, that's all. I share my GOG account with two other people, and we all have different games, so when we want a game the other doesn't have, we log in to that person's account and download the game. I just did this last week when one of my friends wanted Neverwinter Nights 2, so I told him to grab it off my GOG library.

Now I'll have to get ahold of them and have them send the notification and send them back the code I get in my email. Not MUCH of an inconvenience, but still one I think most people will put off doing for a bit.
