There's companies hiring in the games industry right now? That's news to, well, the massive flood of people who can't get work again.

The establishment see Steam reviews as a threat because they are actually good and cutting them out of the loop.

"The establishment." That's hilarious. Tell that to some indie developer struggling to eat because he's dared to have a non-backwater social philosophy (completely unreflected in his game) and someone's waterboarded the reviews section because of it.

But you go on and tell yourself you're doing The Lord's work. He certainly didn't say "love thy neighbor." Wait, hang on a minute...

That's some QUALITY strawman you got there. Highly entertaining! Don't stop, please!

Oh look, ad hominem! DO go on...

This torch and pitchfork crowd that cries big meaty man tears at the very mention of things that are not them or fuckable by them in their entertainment of choice, as if they are the sly tendrils of a grand conspiracy are everywhere these days! Gaming is full of these people for some reason. And I take great joy in their anguish regardless of how much of their politics I share. It makes me happy. You made me happy today. Thankyou.

Missed the /s I take it? It's okay.

You don't need to have time for the extreme regressive left, though it has plenty of time for you and it's 1920's style anti-sexual revolution mentality.

Ignore. You see this is how it works. You talk about them they gain strength by recognition. If you ignore them this is what happens... "I'd love to get my (insert agenda) but damn it no one will even listen to us." Dies on the vine.

Looks like Beamcrap is hurting after pissing on Baldur's Gate's legacy. Although the SJW dominated press has tried to portray this as anti-LGBT, nobody cares about who's in anyone's bed.

This isn't going to encourage anyone to buy the game who is against the extremist SJW agenda. Looking forward to Beamdog's financial collapse.

"Extremist." God knows when people having equal rights became extremist. It's probably high time we start persecuting the religious right like they're complaining people are - at least they'd have a legitimate complaint instead of their bigoted bullshit then.

I never understood this - I'm already heavily invested in the console version. Why would I want a PC version, considering how little of the old content's been ported to the newest console versions, which was supposedly going to be a high priority for them?

I'm not happy with the Ubisoft review embargo thing they pulled with the game. I do not care if the game is the next Half Life, they should not be embargoing reviews or reviewers.

Having said that the Open beta (IE: a limited time demo) taste of whats to come trick worked well, even from the posts below. I suppose its actually a nice way to show a game, I like that. But I would still like to hear reviewers before I commit money. So I wait until they speak.

Their point on review embargoes was that the game is a multiplayer centric game, and is designed to have lots of people. Playing it solo, with an empty environment, and no one else around, is not an accurate representation of what players would actually get.

Most reviewers seem to understand that.

I'm going to give it a shot -- I was pretty impressed by google cardboard, so I don't think I'll be disappointed. My biggest concern is more about having enough content rather than the quality of the experience.

Content is the main thing holding me back too.

VR is happening again now because of smartphones and the technology that it has driven: responsive sensors, physically tiny processing power, most of all the high PPI displays.

As I've said for years and years, in regards to any new technology, be it hardware, VR, console or controller - show me the games, show me something that I *need* this hardware to be able to play, and make me excited about the game, excited enough that I'll buy the hardware.

Talk about shoddy journalism. At the BOTTOM of the article, there's a thing that says "Update:" and lists out that the GAME isn't cancelled, the YouTube video tutorial "Ultimate Game Dev" thing is. The story has (half-heartedly) been updated to reflect this, but the headline is still sloppy, and the clarification work is slipshod, at best, because, hey, click bait!

And people wonder why I no longer want to do anything with my Bachelor's of Journalism.

I fully expected to delete it again after five minutes but I've actually stuck with it for a couple of hours. It's OK for a free beta/game but I won't buy this consolitis garbage. I really dislike cover shooters with shitty gamepad style aiming and at the core this will always remain a cover shooter no matter how much they try to hide it with padding.

Translation: "I decided I wasn't going to like this before I played it. I didn't like it, because I don't like the genre. So, it's terrible."

Translation: "I'm a moron who knows absolutely nothing about this CJ_Parker guy but I'm gonna make a helluva lot of fucking dumb ASSumptions anyway".

Just a quick clue: I expected the game to SUCK from the videos I watched before playing the beta. It was not a "decision" to not like it. The "decision" was made easy by watching the lame preview videos with crappy gameplay. So I decided to see for myself and, as I said, was (sort of) pleasantly surprised until I realized what the game is and always will be at its core: Cover shooter console garbage.

So there.

Oh no, I have full reading comprehension. I don't think YOU do.

You've made it quite clear you don't like cover shooters. You don't like console games. So, really, troll on troll kid.

Cover shooter console garbage.

I don't know who you are, I don't care who you are. I read what you said.

I really dislike cover shooters with shitty gamepad style aiming

So you don't like cover shooters on consoles, and yet, your opinion on a cover shooter on a console is somehow supposed to be valid?

I mean, rage harder, man. I just think you're hilarious. You knew it was a console cover based shooter going in, and the thing you stress, in every post you've made on this, is that it's a console cover based shooter, and therefore it sucks.
