SP was fun enough to justify the cost of entry for me. MP might be a nice bonus...

Perfect... you're comparison confirms my comments. Keeping your mind IN politics helps those attempting to do your thinking for you. Avoid it and form your own beliefs, rather than forming beliefs based on political views. Trust me; spend some time away from it. It'll be good for you.

I fail to see how remaining informed on the issues (ie - keeping your mind in politics) is somehow disadventagous when forming my own beliefs. Simply because someone keeps up to date on the political goings on doesn't mean they aren't thinking for themselves or forming views based on their own values.

I also fail to see how staying informed on the issues would make you easier to manipulate (rather, I would think the opposite). Just because I listen to the talking heads doesn't mean I have to agree with head A or head B, and neither does it preclude critical thinking on the issues (again, it seems to be just the opposite).

Please tell me what you mean. I am curious.

I think Bush is still in the lead in the "say something stupid" race. (google - Bushisms)

As for the "keep your mind out of politics"... yes, we'll just let those in power do the thinking for us. Just vote the way the commercials tell you (or not at all!) and everything will be alright... And remember- "Ignorance is strength!" x_x

I must say, I'm a little worried about how having trees everywhere will effect classic Serious Sam gameplay.

Meh, I'm probably worrying over nothing.

Jeez, talk about comparing Apples and Oranges. When I buy a SINGLE PLAYER game, I don't expect some intrusive Content 'Push' system to deny me of playing an OFFLINE game. MMO's are purely Online, if servers go down then you are SOL, not sure why the same priciple has to be applied to a pure SP game, stupid. Who cares if it's subscription or not, it's still an un-needed layer of crap.
Hmmm... I made the MMO comparison, not to show that it is normal for games to require online authentication, but to show that such authentication can be reliable and unobtrusive.

As for the "un-needed<sic> layer of crap", since when has a game's GUI become an unneeded layer? That is the role Steam plays, and, like many modern games, Steam-based games can auto-update within the game. True, Steam does serve as the GUI for multiple games, but there are no real "extra layers" when playing one of these games.

Just imagine when half-life 2 comes out and everyone is using steam... then steam goes down, can u picture how angry many many gamers will be, then they can't play half-life 2 due to this?

Just imagine when *popular MMO* comes out and the servers go down and no one can play... picture how many angry gamers there will be! Oh noes!

Also I am still waiting on any evidence of the pay to play system some doomsayers are forecasting... thus far I have seen none (though I think I did hear about the ability to "rent" the game without buying it, optionally of course).

run around, watch enemies try to duck for cover, snipe people and shoot things

big damn deal
Yeah, and who cares about sports? All they do is run around and throw a ball around. Nothing new.

If you didn't enjoy the demo, well, don't buy the game. Some of us had a blast, regardless if we have played games where you shoot people before.

You live in Canada? Yeah, you're getting ripped off. And I'm not talking about video games.

Yeah! Universal health care... a low crime rate... what a rip off!

I give it the same review as the previous poster.

Just Google it:

Graphics look Diablo 2 quality. Decent enough.
Besides, you gotta support a company that RARs its demo.

I just recently reinstalled Nox and... wow. I had forgotten how fun that game is. I really like action RPGs that put the emphasis on action. Combat requires skill and manuvering, rather than mad clicking and occasional spells like in Diablo.

I always heard that most small arms fire in games is actually beefed up from the real thing to make them more impressive sounding...?

Then again, I might not know what the hell I'm talking about. The only weapons I've fired were a few shotguns (loud!) and a 9mm (fairly quiet).

How to get the "tinkle" out of the chamberpot:
"Hold nose", "Reach in chamberpot", "Stop holding nose" (if you omit this last step you will suffocate and the game will make fun of you.

Also in your cell:
"Take hay" to find some moldy bread

What to do in the magistrate's office:
Use the key from the chamberpot to unlock the drawer. Take the map. Leave. The magistrate will confront you. "Talk to magistrate" to get by him.

How to get into the maze:
"Talk to Percy", then go right in

How to get through the maze:
Follow the map instructions. There is one error on the map though. Instead of north twice, you need to do it three times. Don't worry, you won't have a choice. To kill the creatures, attack "middlin", except for the third, which you attack, "high".

How not to die of the plauge:
When you are close to dieing, eat the moldy bread. I believe it resets the plague timer (high fiveth!)

Ok, I'm out of the maze, now what?
That's what I'd like to know. When I go in the infirmery, I just get asked a bunch of strange questions by a satyr playing a sitar and eventually die of the plauge. D'oh!

When I get to the infirmiry, a satyr playing a sitar keeps asking me meaningless questions and I die of the plauge...

By the way, to buy yourself some time, just eat the moldy bread when you are about to die.

Read the EULA. Like in most software, the EULA is meant to give the developer power over the product, including charging for services at a later date.

Again, bring some evidence to back your assertions.
