yea, there is just too much E3 out there! this was definitely the best year so far I must say. Well, there were better years for games I think but for the fun factor this was the year for me.

Funky, I got a different press release that does not include that. Damn BusinessWire, damn them!

(a i checked EA's info site and it does have that line, i wonder why BW's does not. very odd and lame)

Actually, the press release does not include the PC. Perhaps you called someone at EA? I have yet to confirm this, and there is no website or other details on the PC version. (though i am sure there will be one, EA always maes a PC version)

To the guy who said non-exotic cars suck: I think it's a great idea that they are making this game, most car enthusiasts tweak out the average car because it is affordable and fun. I'm looking forward to playing this game for sure.

This rumor has been stated on many websites and will continue until announcements are made. As well all know price cuts are usually done in May due to heightened expectancy of new systems and their unveiling at E3 (or sometimes GDC). Would be nice to pickup a GC for $100 tho, but really which one would you want now, a GC or GBA-SP? (if you had neither of course)

agreed. though the mail protocol wont be a thing of the past anytime soon, since most things die very hard (most pc's still have a floppy drive, a ps/2 connection, serial ports, and god knows what else).

message based forums are becoming much more popular than ever and it does bring me back to the BBS days like tempus was saying. Though I preferred Oblivion2, renegade, vision/x and the all powerful PCBoard. (wildcat was always best for shareware if you want to get real old school, and WWIV was just scary) ok, thats enough on my BBS jonx.

Yes that's too bad when games have patches come out after retail release that fix major flaws.

funny you should mention it being a pissing simulator. so far that has actually been the funnest part of the game. much like homelan stated, we received a copy of the game a few days ago, but it was the retail copy and not the gold version which is slightly better in my eyes. as for unreal engine, yes it definitely exhibits graphics from 1998 (original Unreal launch year). Sould be wrapping up the review in a few days, but for now I am enjoying pissing on the walls and what not.. made a little AR logo in piss for fun:

One Must Fall: 2097 rocked.. the follow up looks similar to Virtua-On, which was "ok" on the PC but much better in the arcade. Something like OMF:BG is meant to be more of a sparetime fun action game, not an all tim consuming FPS or RTS type game, etc. Wait for a while, pick it up for $15 someplace and it should be worth the wait.

Definitely not boring. The PS2 version of this game is amazing, and there is already previews of the PC version. Colin McRae Rally 3 does look impressive, but entirely different style of racing and cars.

you dont like having to click past an ad for every page or search for the text on a page surrounded by flying ads and popups? I thought it was 'cool' to have ads? hehe

The email just came for all of our staff today, but we noticed on December 1st that the website opened for business. I thought about posting it as news, but decided not to. According to the website it looks like media will get 2 days of early access this year. As you might remember, last year media was able to get in at 9am one of the days (previous years allowed media to enter same time as everyone else). Doors normally open at 10am, there should be a whole day dedicated to media only but I guess thats what meeting rooms are for. If you have attended E3 in the past you know that with everyone walking the floor (media, attendees, exhibitors, etc) it gets extremely crowded. I didn't go when it was in Atlanta in 2000, though it was closer to my home than Los Angeles I just didn't. Anyone that went that year please give some info as to what the differences were in the convention centers and which one you prefered.

there are usually many people that touch the pc's as they are being setup at E3. friends of friends of the companies, people who are mearly standing by and watching others setup the pc's have the opportunity to do something to them as well. more than likely it could have been just a random person standing by while the Doom3 machines were being setup pre-E3 and just uploaded it, or copied it someplace. You never know really. ID could have sent out a few copies to people to look at such as large companies like IGN, GameSpy, or any countless video games magazine. Truthfully don't place blame on people when you know nothing about the matter. If ATi is to blame, then let it be, but don't start rumors just because their video card was used or you might have heard someone else mention a rumor on IRC of all places, the godfather of misinformation.

hey, once you are done getting it instead of asking for mirrors how about passing it out to some mirrors? they might be unaware of the file or waiting longer than you!

Oh it will definitly work.

First Reply: the game is offering more than generic characters, in addition to creating your own.

Second Reply: They will allow more than one person to play any given character I can gurantee that.

Third Reply: As seen with every MMORPG created to date there is no problem with being of a similar creation such as 500 people being "Wolverine" as there are usually changes that can be made so people can feel original such as color of skin, clothing, hair style, weapon choice, etc. Not only that but im sure most of those people wont mind being the original character and running into another once in a while.

and for the ones who just HAVE to be original, well im sure they can think of something that will be copied later, and then cause them to change again which they most likely will complain about but still pay $10 per month and deal with it for 2-3 years or more before deciding to quit as all good online game players do. Or just enjoy it entirely and play forever.

I've said it before and I'll say it again here. There needs to be some 80's revival in the MMORPG scene, G.I. Joe Online, or Transformers Online. The Terminator online would definitly be lame, the XBOX coming soon should be good enough, and who knows what T3 will bring. Star Wars Galazies will be great, and a Marvel Superhero based MMO would be awesome.. G.I. Joe and Transformers MMO would rule all. =)
