I feel real sorry for the reviewer as he obviously spent alot of time preparing this review. However, some basic points are in error. First, including Win98Lite is a mistake. Too many programs depend on some of the system files that Internet explorer uses. If you ONLY use your machine for gaming then I guess it is ok, however, how many people actually have enough computers to dedicate one to gaming alone (present company excluded :)) Most users also use word, e-mail, etc. and some of the funtionality of these other programs may be impacted by using Win98Lite (as evidenced by some of the standard benchmarks not running)
His second mistake is using FAT32 with the NT os's. Just my unscientific observations (based on a couple quick tests with some simple benchmark programs) is that NTFS is about twice as fast as FAT32 on the same drive. Since many of these sims would be using swap file memory this is a real concern. It is akin to comparing an old pentium motherboard to a new pentium 4 board but using the same s3 video card in both. of course the new board will be at a disadvantage.
He did raise some good points and observations though, but I would like to see this redone with the NT os's using the filesystem they were MEANT to use.
