This is basically the spiritual successor to the Flatout series. Bugbear made Flatout 1 & 2 (which were awesome), but didn't make 3 (which sucked) and don't have the license for it. Hence the generic name.

Flatout 2 has been a mainstay out our LAN parties, both in race and derby modes, and Next Car Game looks set to finally take its place.

I'm still waiting for my Autoduel remake - I loved that game.

Singleplayer campaign as a stretch goal? Hell no.

Manhunt is no longer available in the Steam AU store.

That was fast.

Bah, that's some shoddy reporting from VG247.

AFIK, the only game on that list to be refused classification in AU is Manhunt, the rest are freely purchasable from EB, JB-HiFi etc (and I own most of them, locally bought). I suspect their previous unavailability on Steam was related to arrangements with local distributors rather than the OFLC.

EDIT: Looks like VG247 actually got the story right, the fault lies with Blue's recounting of the story

STO is a bit repetitive, but I don't mind because the space combat is just so much damn FUN. Never before have I played a MMO where the gameplay was even half as entertaining as it is in STO.

Towards the end of this month they're going to release new content including diplomatic missions too, which will let players level up without fighting through diplomacy and first contact scenarios.

As of now my favorite is probably Troughton or Pertwee.
Same here. I'm also fond of Davison, but he had some pretty lousy stories to work with.

All I ask is a AvP style game but with Daleks vs Cybermen instead. Throw in a rogue unit of human Dalek Hunters and you've got a winning franchise:

Brigadier [holding up a high-calibre bullet]: Armour-piercing, solid core, with a teflon coating. Go through a Dalek.
Doctor: A non-stick bullet.
Brigadier: UNIT's been very busy, Doctor. We've also got high-explosive rounds for Yetis, and very efficient armour-piercing rounds for robots. We've even got gold-tipped bullets for you-know-who.

The original Battlechess was fun to watch the animations a few times, then it got old pretty quick.
Indeed, I was so preoccupied with the battle animations that I was happy to let the AI wipe the floor with me so I could see what happens when a pawn defeats a Queen.

Great update though.

Bah, if people want to be punished for dying they should go and play EVE Online. Part of the appeal of STO for me is its forgiving nature - I don't need the stress and anxiety that comes with death penalties.

To ad insult to injury, the release date on Steam for "Borderlands Australia" has always been 27th October, and there was even a countdown timer, so lots of Aussies were preloaded and eager to play today. I'd even planned my day around it.

Then one hour before the game was due to unlock, the aussie release date was changed to the 30th and the countdown changed from one hour to three days. Apparently it was always supposed to be the 30th in AU, but nobody noticed that Steam had listed the wrong until the last hour.

Those of us who had assumed that the date lsited on Steam was accurate are, of course, raging.

$89.99 USD to buy the standard edition in Australia? Are they insane?!?

I wasn't going to buy this anyway, due to the dedicated server stuff-up, but it's starting to look like Activision is going out of their way to kick PC gamers in the balls.
