BitTorrent says the SHA1 hash for Battlefield_2_Demo_GC.zip is 3A57AE2537341AAD087FD0EDF4C3616DE9AA02BE.

This is the Pirate Bay torrent, so everyone knows.

The filerush torrent (Battlefield_2_Demo.exe) SHA1 hash is:
CEE0722EC55D9BB9E04FB5E139D7E50ABE02E9E5

The different is probably because the pirate bay one is zipped. Not a concern.

At this moment I would personaly like to thank syd2.ausgamers.com and sunnyvale_ns25_extsunnyvale-ns25-ext.us.atari.com who are my two big download peers at the moment. You guys get extra beer at the after party.

oh, and a fuck you to ip70-176-164-201.ph.ph.cox.net. Don't host a seed if you can't get your goddamn NAT set up right.

Can anyone post the MD5 or SHA1 checksum for this?
I will once I get it down. No luck with the piratebay torrent, way too many leeches at the moment.

I'm now positive ratio on the filerush torrent (48k/30k) but not by much. This is going to be the second longest 3 hours of my gaming life (the first being the Anarchy Online first day rush. I got a taste for 3 hours, and then didn't get back on till the next day. Drove me insane).

I'm getting 240k/sec from the same torrent. Who's your ISP?
You must have got lucky and hit one of the seeds with high upload rates. I think I'm pulling from all the peers, and it's all over the place. Varying wildly from 180kBps to 800Bps (ick). Hopefully I'll strike it rich soon enough

You think fileplanet would be all over snagging this by now. Although they do tend to be rather slow in getting something up.

Should've played it at the Games for Windows booth with me. No line, big 22+ inch monitor, with full sound

I did on Day 3. I spent half the time showing off the game for Joshuah over at that booth since his voice was going (which was great fun). Day 2 I won a 6600GT in the BF2 tourney, which is why I was at NVidia booth :).

EDIT: forgot the quote

So who's dusting off their flight sticks?

Although they didn't have a joystick at E3 and I had to resort to the akimbo keyboard method (wasd and arrows for cyclic/strafe and rudder/yaw, respectively), the helis and planes "feel" more realistic. There's more drift in the controls, but it actually feels more responsive altogether. It'll be interesting to see if this holds up under more laggy conditions.

And I predict you will eat your hat. I had the marvelous opportunity to get in a few rounds of 32-player action at E3 2005 over at the Nvidia booth, and even that build which was a month old even at that time looked definitely good enough to ship. I was able to examine all my fears (command mode pointless, squads don't encourage teamwork, etc.) and was able to allay all of them. Placed my pre-order as soon as I got home from L.A.

The live game will also benefit from a highly aggressive content update schedule, whereas our beta test is limited to the initial feature set.

If only Star Wars Galaxies was this honest...

Gamespy I believe. At least Gamespy used to have PA art all over their site. I think their forum avatars are still PA art.

I always thought that was kind of strange, as I never remember any mention of it in the newsposts, even going way back. I just assumed it was one of those side deals like the game-specific comics they were doing for a while. I had no idea Gamespy screwed them for it.

Bingo! Don't know why I thought it was A something. Thanks so much! I always knew I could count on the kindness of strangers, even those who lead me into an alleyway half-naked.

*EDIT*: It was Casshern. Big thanks to MeatFarts.

Heyo,

Was wondering if you guys could help me with something. There was a media of the day posted here about 6 months-year ago that was a trailer on an apple site for a japanese movie. It had some incredible special effects and looked quite promising. I think it started with an "A" but I don't think it's ever seen a U.S. release.

Any pointers would be great. I'm not referring to Advent Children, which I think would be most people's most obvious guess. I seem to remember this looking to be live action, but heavily CG.

Thanks,

-DSR
