Amazon and Play have always been excellent with range, prices, stock and deliveries for me - and they just drop them through the letterbox, so its no hassle.

Do you get them on the ship date to retailers, or do you have to wait a few extra days? I may give it a try. Always willing to try new methods of distribution for the greatest hobby in the world

What kind of sap buys games at EB and GameStop anyway? You can ALWAYS find PC games cheaper somewhere else.

I buy at my local Software Etc. (A GameStop company) because they've only ONCE been late on receiving a game on time (out of the 40 some-odd I've probably purchased from them over the years). I would go the online route but I'm rarely home during the week and UPS won't do unsigned dropoffs at my locale. I appreciate their reliability and the veteran employee's treatment. When I come in, I show them my full reserve, they hand me the game, and I'm out in less than 10 seconds.

For the new guys tho, I swear to god I'll deck the next one that asks me for a strategy guide.

An improved control system and more gradual learning curve

Um, this makes me uneasy. I hope they don't mean it in the same way DX2 meant it.

While I believe that exclusive demos are fine as long as they are released to the public in a timely manner, The EZ-Pad software is a little annoying. I understand FP's want to control the distribution of the demo. I personally have never had any problem with the software, but I hear of other people having it.

W00t! Go to their website!

http://www.hitmancontracts.com/

Very nifty trailer. Tobias looks a bit older now, early-mid 40s as opposed to his 30's look of the previous games. The mood they set is very in line with what I liked best about the previous hitman games.

The game will be epic, highly disturbing, but most importantly an enjoyable experience.

Highly disturbing? If hitman beats people to death with dildos while wearing a tutu, it might be highly disturbing. Otherwise, its just good ol' hitman fun!

That little insert in the Deus Ex CD Case nearly gave me a heart attack, at first I thought it was a demo CD. You can imagine my contempt when it turned out to be paper :).

Still, the Hitman franchise is probably my personal favorite since Thief, and I'm looking forward to the next installment.

the sound of the engine was ripped from John Carpenter's Christine

Or more likely the sound guys have the same sample libraries.

Word is, Deus Ex IW IS a good game, it's just the performance issues that bite.

Thats what I keep hearing, it is a good game as long as you don't take it too seriously as a Deus Ex game (and the unified ammo is a stupid idea). I'm pretty sure I'd enjoy the hell out of it if I could just get the damn thing to run :).

Theres a lot of optimization tools circulating out there now that supposedly help with the problems, but rather than frustrate with it, I'll just wait a month and hope Ion releases performance patches. I've got enough games on my plate as it is to worry about this. Since all the reviews say it isn't really a Deus Ex game but is still a good game independent of that legacy, I don't need to slam through it right away.

So, was that off topic enough? Lets talk some more about the humvee driving off the cliff and ramming the blackhawk.

yeah, that was the part where i turned off the movie, deleted it, and kept hoping that half-life 2 would come out soon.

Well maybe you should do like your website suggests and get Beyond Half-Life, you probably stopped the Return of the King trailer in the same fashion

Halo and DX:IW looked like fun too.

But Halo WAS fun, especially coop :).

I don't have an opinion on DX:IW yet, because I can't get it to run over 10-15fps even @ 640x480 on a 1.7ghz GF3Ti200. I know its not top of the line, but seeing as I get 60fps easy @ 1024x768 in any other game makes this a bit inexcusable. Oh well, I have a new upgrade cycle coming around march, or whenever HL2 chooses to release itself, though I may update early if I get excited enough about Far Cry.

By the way, did I mention the driving of the hummer off the cliff and ramming the helicopter with it? Big Style Points!!!

-DSR

EDIT: if you can get a game to run at 1024x758 I'd be impressed, otherwise it was a typo

The badger thing is pretty funny too. Strange phenomenon.

It's an inside joke from an incredibly addicting flash animation/song that was an MotD a while back. Most likely a photoshop job.

EDIT: Seeing as the link has "photoshop" as one of the directories, I'd say that's a safe assumption

The game is very humorous, and the land shark gun is the COOLEST gun I've seen in a long time. However, once the novelty wears off (and it does quickly) you spend most your time mowing down waves of enemies with the quintessential machine gun, and it gets tedious.

It's not bad, I was just writing a commonly posed question on this forum about patches in acronym form. Who has time to write the whole thing out, after all?
