Well, honestly I am not surprised to see MCO shut down and like many others here, I am also surprised that it survived as long as it did. I got accepted into the beta and frankly, didn't play it for very long because I couldn't stand how unrealistic and clumsy the driving physics were. A couple of my friends (who are real life car enthusiasts) tried it as well and they didn't like it at all. And these were guys who were striving to find the positive things in the game because it was the type of title they really wanted to see (one that not only lets you race, but heavily customise your cars.) I also agree that this whole debacle is another case of EA not listening to their fans. Back in the 80s and throughout a lot of the 90s, they were a great developer who really created well polished games that people wanted to play. Now, they release unfinished, barely tested, haphazardly designed products (SimCity 4, Generals, UO's original incarnation, Ultima 9 etc. etc. etc.) and expect people to just suck it up and live with their shortcomings. Unfortunately, they are canning MCO just as it is starting to lose money so they won't learn anything from this experience because it's not costing them anything. Shame...
