I am indeed very sorry to hear about your loss Blue. I lost my Grandmother last year after her own bout with a great many problems including Diabetes, Congestive Heart Failure, Liver Failure and the rapid loss of her own mental facilities. I know how difficult a time this must be. But remember, as has already been demonstrated here, you have a entire community of people who feel for you. Take care guy.

EA isn't French and have you seen some of the garbage that they peddle on people and for that matter, how THEY handle patches?

I find it very funny that LucusArts has cancelled this title, supposedly citing quality concerns considering the caliber of some of the other stuff they've released. Don't get me wrong, they put out a lot of good stuff as well, but they have put out their fair share of "What the hell were you thinking?" type stuff as well. Ugh...if it's not a regurgitated shooter or RTS idea, it doesn't seem to be worth releasing anymore...

Looks like we've got yet another classic franchise that a modern publisher is going to ruin. Can't wait to see how Infogrames is going to butcher this one.

Well, honestly I am not surprised to see MCO shut down and like many others here, I am also surprised that it survived as long as it did. I got accepted into the beta and frankly, didn't play it for very long because I couldn't stand how unrealistic and clumsy the driving physics were. A couple of my friends (who are real life car enthusiasts) tried it as well and they didn't like it at all. And these were guys who were striving to find the positive things in the game because it was the type of title they really wanted to see (one that not only lets you race, but heavily customise your cars.) I also agree that this whole debacle is another case of EA not listening to their fans. Back in the 80s and throughout a lot of the 90s, they were a great developer who really created well polished games that people wanted to play. Now, they release unfinished, barely tested, haphazardly designed products (SimCity 4, Generals, UO's original incarnation, Ultima 9 etc. etc. etc.) and expect people to just suck it up and live with their shortcomings. Unfortunately, they are canning MCO just as it is starting to lose money so they won't learn anything from this experience because it's not costing them anything. Shame...

I wasn't that impressed with the original RtCW, but I must admire Activision for cancelling a project they didn't feel was up to snuf instead of just pushing it out the door in a half-assed state a la Electronic Arts. They could've just told them to get it in a finished but unpolished state, shipped it and it probably would have sold, but instead they cancelled it. I have to give kudos there.

Amen! That is pretty much the same view that I share. I am really tired of being held accountable for the mistakes of the past. I do not believe in treating women or other races as second-class. Just because previous generations might have doesn't mean I am the same way and it doesn't mean that I should be held accountable for it. As I've said before, if you find the content in something offensive (whether a game, a movie or whatever), turn your head and don't pay money for it! If you want to state that you find something offensive, that's all great. But don't try and surpress something that everyone else likes just because you don't. You have no more a right to demand Hitman 2 be taken off the shelves than an Italian person would have a right to demand The Sopranos be cancelled because it portrays some Italian people as a criminal organisation. This attempt to dominate the world through nuisance is getting really tiresome.

You're quite right sir. And while this guy was getting all this attention for suing the prison system, did anyone even stop to consider the fact that he was a filthy murderer and of the victims whose lives he took? I don't think it was appropriate for the guards to use that language, but it is completely unreasonable for him to be allowed to sue the system being a criminal himself. It's wonderful that we live in society where all someone (a non-white of course) is scream prejudice and society in general will bend over backwards to accomodate them, regardless of how ridiculous their claim is. It's lovely how these groups scream equality and then continue to scream it even when it's no longer equality they want, but more rights then the rest of us (as is the case with this Sikh situation.) If you don't like the content of a product, then turn your head!

And here we have a demonstration of the other side of the ignorance coin. We have Dr. Del and then we have people like this who give him a reason to exist. <SIGH>

Dr. Del, why don't you take your head out of your ass and grow up? I'm gonna' tell you something. Eidos apologised because they wanted to save corporate face. They're in serious financial trouble right now and can't afford to alienate any of their audience so if a simple apology means that a few more people might buy Hitman 2, then they apologise. Were this Electronic Arts or Microsoft Game Studios, I think you'd see a very different outcome. However, gloating like an immature third-grader on the playground doesn't make anyone else believe you were right. Grow up. Just because someone apologises, it doesn't mean they think they were wrong, just that they wanted to shut losers like you up!

I heard on the news this morning that the prosecutors are not going to be seeking jail time. What? A celebrity who is clearly guilty of a crime not going to jail?! A crime for which anyone else would be splitting rocks over already? We've never seen such a thing have we?

I have not actually finished the game yet (I suspect I'm past ten hours, but I got stuck more than one), but have not encountered any crash bugs. However, the game regularly blows up the colour pallet and loses the lower part of character faces if it it swapped out of. I unfortunately have to swap out regularly and usually have to restart the game an average of every second swapout in order to restore the graphics. Microids says they are aware of this, but it only affect ssome systems so it is a lower priority bug.

I must say, it's about time they finally got around to putting this game where it belongs. I have two friends who bought XBoxs' just for Halo and who I still think are insane for wasting their money that way. However, I can tell you why this is taking so long to happen even though porting between XBox and PC is supposed to be so easy: Halo hasn't had it's full run on the XBox yet. Microsoft wants to squeeze every last dollar from the XBox version. They want to make everyone who is even thinking about buying an XBox for this game go out and do it. Once Halo XBox has stopped making money, then they'll port it to PC and Mac and have a new infusion of money from this product. It's a way of extending its lifespan well past that of most games. I am quite sure that the PC version is almost ready to go (althought writing a proper Internet multiplayer mode might take some time) and that they are just sitting on their hands until the time is right. The question now is, will they spend this extra time to actually test the product or will it need a half-dozen patches within the first week like we're used to?
