There was an Origin game built on the Ultima engine (6 maybe?) called Entomorph. Your character got infected by an alien insect at the start of play and as you leveled up you slowly changed into a bug, gaining bug powers like acid spit and carapace shell. I played it a long time ago, but I can't remember details without googling it. Around the same time they also did a game set on Mars, which I can't remember the name of, with the same engine.

Green Man just added PC Horizon Zero Dawn to their discounts. Not huge, but $42 instead of $50 is good if you're planning on getting it new on pc.

I would still rather see buggy actual gameplay previews over shiny cinematics which mean nothing. Every time.

Remember seeing the first BG3 demo video live where the CEO guy got his butt handed to him by bad rolls and experience a couple major bugs? People laughed at it, but it was still fun and informative early play. A stupid in-engine movie would have been much less exciting (although the BG3 intro videos were pretty keen).

I read "Souls like... unforgiving combat system." and I do a hard pass on this game. Is "fun" and "depth" and "multiple conflict resolution" not things people want any more? Nope, put the gamer on a rail and give no saves until he figures out the boss's trick. Wheee.

I first read that as "Klingon Under Fire" so I guess I need to spend less time talking trash in the Facebook Trek groups.

Consoles usually don't WANT complex PC RPGs releasing the same time on consoles, since they inevitably need several patches in a short amount of time, no matter how long you baked it in dev, and consoles HATE trying to do quick patches. Most of these type games come to consoles MUCH later, usually after they are extensively tested by the end users and preferably after the DLC is added and they can do a GOTY version for consoles. Then everyone is happy, mostly, and you don't have so much bad press and reviews. So, no, delay is unrelated to any console hoobajoob.

Only problem I see is that "Gotham Knight" singular, sounds like a Batman game. "Knights" sounds more like a multiplayer fighter.

I bought 1 and 2 in boxes, which is what you did at the time. Since then I've gotten those two again during cheap sales on both GoG and Steam, and also got W3 and expansions. Played each game at least twice to finish. I assume (and hope) they have a plan for more after Cyberpunk. I wonder if they're counting only sales figures on that 50 million, since it's been DRM free on gog for years now and easy to pirate? Could they even tell?

I sometimes use task manager to open the desktop so I can find a hint online if I'm in a game that refuses to alt-tab swap out of full screen and disables the windows key.

I recently replayed FC4 and then New Dawn, the smaller one set after FC5. Five is mostly good, except when you're forced into the story missions unexpectedly. I also love FC Primal, which a lot of people don't. If you've liked any of the others in the series and have not played 5, this is a good opportunity to see if it fits you.

This sounds like the courts getting involved in a personal matter, and it is, but you have to respect the wishes of the parents first, and I guess grandma wouldn't listen. Kid's privacy is paramount, and the ruling is right.

I played the hell out of the now-ancient Jack Nicklaus Unlimited golf game, where you could design your own courses and share them on BBS sites, CompuServe, and AOL back in 1990. I'm old.

From what I read in reviews, it's a good game as long as you can stay in the PvE early areas, but some items eventually require you to PvP and then you get ganked and robbed and the fun is over. Not my idea of enjoyment.
