I don't like it. The pic makes it look too fat and bulky. I am hoping it is just the camera angle and seeing it in motion will make a difference though. The old ones mostly looked sleek, except the D.

They are saying that someone at the duplication plant leaked the version they received, which I am assuming was being duplicated there. If they were duplicating it AND it was a pre-release version, this begs the question why would you duplicate a pre-release version to begin with? I think that they are just trying to do a CYA where they knowingly released a buggy product on the PC and are pulling a "we meant to do that" answer out of their hat.
As a side note, I did enjoy the PS3 version....

Stupid me.. I believed that MS would release around Vista's release date and bought Flight Sim and a new PC for this.
I knew I should have waited....

Not going to happen. And if by some chance, someone hits their head hard enough to try this, it won't be enforced or when it goes to court, the IRS will lose.
Online gold is NOT income. IF I sell my gold/item/whatever for real US dollars then that is different. If I gold farm in game in order to buy the uber helm of swartz, in game, then that is not income.
Also, technically, if I sell my items to an ingame vendor, wouldn't the publisher have to pay tax then?

I have a feeling that someone in the IRS mentioned this sto someone in regards to selling in game items in the real world for real dollars and someone else got it all turned around. Or someone in the IRS meant it as a joke and it got turned around.

I'm installing a new mobo and figured it'd be best (per the suggestions of most of the guys out here) to just wipe the drive completely and start fresh. Plus, i made the mistake of installing and ATTEMPTING to un-install Windows Blinds this weekend and it hosed my whole box. i get prompts to install the OS everytime i click something. Pisses me off.

but thanks for the links, i'll check those out.

If it's only to do a clean Windows install, than the standard format command is fine. Or during install delete the partition then re-create it.

Thos other programs are for securly erasing your drive, like if you're getting rid of it or want to make sure any persoanl information on the drive is gone. They are not quick and speed depends on the size of the drive.

One thing that may help, but would need to be done tomorrow (assuming the whole fence is being replaced) Is to have the contract dig a 6"-12" wide and about 1 foot or deeper trench directly under the fence and fill it in with cement.
Yes the dogs, if determined can still dig under, however, they won't most likely dig under in one siting, which means you have time to fill it back up.

I was in the market to get a new card.
It was either going to be an Nvidia or ATI one as I have both in my various systems.
Having the voucher made my decision easier as it also saved me $50 down the road.

The way it works is this... Those with a voucher can get a CD OR the steam release. If you sent in your coupon and asked for a CD, you will get the CD. If you decided to admit your coupon to steam already then that is what you get. All of the extra goodies such as DOD, HL1, etc are not in the store retail release. It is unknown at this time if they will be available later as a free download or a purchase. I am leaning towards a purchase since you pay extra for them in steam.
Steam users also get to play CS:Source starting next week, which is probably Valves way of messing with Vivendi(sp), since this is going to definately impact retails sales. as people will not want to wait for them to go Gold and ship to stores. Viv's only saving grace will be those on dial-up, those who MUST have a box, or if they miraculaously ship next week.
Also, you can always burn the cache files from steam onto a CD so you don't have to download them later.

know you can never be too careful in a combat zone but when the question was raised about sending ground troops to the scene instead of the Apache taking the kill, the Army said that usually by time troops are dispatched and are on the scene the subjects are long gone. How would this possibly be the case if an Apache has eyes on them the whole time. The would be no where for them to go.

Actually if you look at the video, when they fired on the tractor they had already "lost" one guy. If he had stayed under the truck (and the Apache pilot/gunner had decided not to take out the vehicles) He wouldn't have been found. So image if they decided to wait for troops and the 3 vehicles went 3 ways. They would have lost 2 for sure.

I wonder how long it took the last guy to realize where the fire was coming from and how dark it really was.
Also does anyone have a link to the full version?

Also:
I wonder how far the Apache was.

And now that I think about it, maybe the farmer just needed to RPG for Gophers... Heavily armed gophers maybe, but gophers none the less.....

(On a serious note, it definatley looks to me like the farmer was getting ready to unwrap the RPG, probably in anticipation of firing.

First off I think you have some information incorrect.

1) Valve annouced a delay before the source stolen information was given out. (But near the original Sept 30th release date.) Vivendi said it would be delayed before Valve also.
2) Release date was pushed to Holiday 2003. This was because Valve finnally admitted the game wan't ready. (Which is no big deal IMO).
3) Source code is reported stolen
4) Vivendi annouces FURTHER delay until April 2004 due to source code issues.
5) Valve still saying Holiday 2003

1) Game was already being delayed til Holidays 2003, so that means it wasn't ready! If Valve was going to use source code release as an excuse, they would have reported it BEFORE delaying the Sept 30th release date.
2) We still don't know for sure about April 2004
3) It is VERY possible that even if the source wasn't released there would be further delays if the game is not ready.
4) The same people complaining that Valve isn't releasing right now are the same ones who would complain if Valve DID release now and A) the game was buggy or B) Someone DID hide a trojan or something in the game or C) Cheats became MUCH easier.
5) The game was annouced THIS year. We have had ONE delay. What exactly is the big deal?
6) Perhaps Valve really did think they would make the Sept 30th release and were just holding off til they knew for sure.
7) Perhaps Valve KNEW it would be delayed because of the source code release, maybe they held off so that they could start tracking the people doing it without them knowing that Valve knew what was going on.

This is stupid. There is no WAY they would intentionally release the source code and the beta.

1) the source code is REAL and has been verifed by several people and websites.
2) the beta is now real as well and has been verfied
3) Releasing the source code on purpose does WAAAAYYYY more damage then even delaying the game another 3 years!!!
4) Releasing the beta on purpose also cause more damage. People playing the beta are less likely to purchase the full game and many people WILL complain that the beta sucks so the real game must suck also. Also it gives Valves competition a heads up on more details/workings of the real game.

While they may been been responsible for the doom 3 mess.....

1) I doubt they had access to the source code.
2) Even if the source and beta were released by 2 different people, ATI has a vested interest in the full real version of HL2, I don't think they had one with Doom 3. I would also assume after the last screw up they got there act together.

Well, technically I'm sure they did release the source to DNF...It's about time for an engine change anyway... But just for you I hacked into 3D realms. Here's the source code for DNF:

here is the beginning of the exe source code!!!

// #include "build.h"
// #include "quake.h"
// #include "quake2.h"
// #include "prey.h"
// #include "unreal.h"
// #include "quake3.h"
// #include "unrealtournament.h"
// #include "ut2003.h"
// #include "ut2004.h"
#include "hl2.h"

Not a chance I would think. there is just too many bad things that would be attached to them having the source code released. Same thing with having a beta version released.

Lay off the McDonalds next time.
