I can add my regrets at seeing ABIT leave the motherboard market. I've still got a KT7A raid motherboard in my old Win 2K box and it's still going strong after damn near 8 years of service. My original power supply gave out and had to be replaced, but the board is fine. I'm sorry to see a vendor that made some truly great products at one time like ABIT fail and leave the market.

I've got an ABit KT7a Raid Mobo in my older system (Athy 1.3 with 756 Megs of Ram) running Win 2K. It's been in service for 7 years now and runs like a champ. The kids use it now for all their homework and it continues to be a workhorse, if a bit dated for my gaming needs. I can't speak for anyone else, but I've built a number of good systems over the years with Abit boards and never had any major hardware or driver issues, and mine continues to give good service. I'd for one would be sorry to see them go.

You know, I have one complaint... How come Tomb Raider can't have 'adult content'??? I mean Halo 2 has it! HALO for crying out loud! Is there anyone who REALLY wants to see Master Chief's unit?!? I'm telling you - Laura Croft and boobies - it's a match made in Heaven.

I'm trying to help a friend with a slow DSL connection get WOW set up on his machine. Now it looks like I need 3 freakin' patches to get his machine up to date. He only gets about 25kbs on his connection (which I'm not even sure is enough to play WOW online without it lagging all to hell - but he'll have to deal with that). My gripe is that I'm looking at what - 3 patches I now have to grab so he can patch up to current...

1.12 US - 476 MB
2.0.1 US - 495 MB
2.0.3 US - 151 MB

That's a Gig worth of patches, and I've had to screw around with hunting them donw from various sites - as Blizzards site just sucks - GAH!

You'd think Blizzard would have at least combined the first two into a single larger one so users with high speed connections didn't have to dick around with multiple small patches.

After all the honest reviews of what craptacular steaming piles Mr. Smart's usual offerings are, who still plays this? I can't think of anything that these games do that at least 2 or 3 other games on the market don't already do better, and with far more up to date graphics. EVE online anyone?

Honestly, coming up with updates for this is like Microsoft pushing out a 'critical security update' for Windows 3.1

I thought maybe it was just me and my wonky connection when it came to getting dropped from EA's Master Servers repeatedly - GRRR! I also seem to be having a weird one with my password, and part of my key config not saving correctly. I use my right and left mouse keys for forward & backward, and every time I restart the game or get bumbed from a server I have to go back and remap those two keys - very annoying!

And you’d be wrong here – again. Pirates generally remove the copy protection (like Starforce) from games – that’s generally how they get to play them without paying for them. Meanwhile, it’s the honest paying customers who’re getting screwed by having the ‘Oh So Craptacular’ Starforce hose their games and quite possibly their OS as well. What a bargain at any price.

I had no Idea that John Romero lived in a small Ukranian village. Perhaps I should have guessed. That would explain Daikatana's graphics and gameplay. And considering the game's AI, it was probably modeled after the villagers too... Honestly if there's a 2 in the title, how could anyone really associate it with Daikatana? Nothing that bad could have a sequel. It'd be like Porky's 2, or Revenge of the Nerds 2, or Starship Troopers 2. Naaawwwww.

I'm firmly in the 'Who Cares' camp. As bad as the first PC port of Halo was, I'm certainly glad I didn't waste any money on it. Great story, solid franchise, and utterly lack luster PC game. The performance of the AI was particularly dissappointing to me, and multiplayer - while fun - certainly didn't bring anything revolutionary to the table. Telling me that I *HAVE TO* upgrade to OS-DRM err... Vista just means I'm pretty much gauranted not to buy this one.
