Those are reloading screens, the other ones face correctly, or did I misunderstand your comment?

The Add On is merely new content. All code fixes, enhancements and core gameplay features of the Add On will be patched to the retail at no cost. Add On players can play with retail players. The only advantage they get is that the new weapons, units and class can be obtained only with the add on, but you can give retail players the add On weapon to play if you like.

We didnt close the US portal, we merged them. Both portals were located in germany from the start anyway, so theres no change.

Your ping has nothing to do with the portal, you ping the server, not the portal.

We do changed server setups, so if oyu got issues please post a tracert in the Söldner server forums and we look into it.

Thanx for your constructive comments. If you bother to list in detail what you dont like maybe we can actually change it.

We did make mistakes, yes, and we fixed most of them, still adding stuff the community wishes. We do expand it, support it, and yes, correct mistakes we did or which simply slipped through the QA process.

If you say "it sucks" we can't do anything about it. If you say "The soldier doesnt feel responsive on my machine, maybe you can do something about it" then we can actually do something.

You can buy weapons before spawning, just use the Equip button.

Buying weapons is better than getting them for free. Reason: gameplay rewards. Its nothing more frustrating that some newbie steals the airplane in front of your nose only because he spawned sooner?

Btw, there are links in the start menü for all server configurations.

There is also a safe mode link to fire up Soldner in case it doesnt work.

Lan server not working? Thats a new one, it doesn tdo anythign but use a window and memory. Can you send me your dxdiag files and the complete crashlog? That would help, thanx!

Seems the master server is getting hammered, thats why most of you cant get in. Our programmers are on it to check wether they can free up resources for that one.

As for laggy LAN servers: no idea, I cant comment unless I have your configs. Is this LAN, WLAN, 10mbit, 100mbit? On LAN we use 25kbytes per second max thru put, but with one user you shouldnt have any lag. Only reason I can imagine is the server not having enough memory?

Tom, you said Soldner Demo is crashing to desktop. Would you do me a favour and email me the crahslogs (inside the installation folder, one txt file and one dmp file) and email me your configuration. Easiest is to send me your dxdiag file: simply use the run... command in the start menu and type in dxdiag. When that opens up use the tools File->Save all info menu to save a txt file, send that as well.

Thanx, this might help us tracking down your problem.

So what exactly does look odd on the "skins"? The proportions are 1:1 human, the weapons scaled on the milimeter to a 1:85 cm high male. I wonder if its the camera angle/perspective which makes you think it looks odd?

The Demo will be put online one month before release, so thats beginning of april.

As for one shot kills: In soldner thats only possible with the right equipment. Trying to do that with a G36 will fail, with a SVG, PSG1, Hecate or similar it is possible with headshots as those wepaons tend to ignore body armor.

I am the lead designer of Soldner. Nothing has been cut, we actually got more time as Soldner was originally scheduled for december 15th.

Ask the community, we added a lot more than was planned originally due to community feedback.

As for game speed: previews had early builds as usual, we sped up the framerates considerably during the last phase, as optimization is usually scheduled at that time.

The lag wasnt caused by the deformable terrain or destruction, that doesnt need a lot of bandwidth, it was caused by unoptimized packets in our netcode which has been found and fixed.

SS for NA was tweaked, ie. we corrected a lot of issues, so USA gets the latest version etc. Also the timeframe for release before christmas wasnt right for this kind of product.

Ok guys: this isnt the first video released, if you check secretwars.net's download section.

Its done by the magazine who taped an in development version while playing. We didnt cut it

The flickering shadows are solved.

Our trailer takes some time as we are in crunch mode and just dont have time for this (yet)

The video should show AGS primarily (gesture system), there will be more coverage from other areas of the game.

People who follow our development knows, but I understand fully what impression a video like this can do. We try to fix it with our much better official trailer.

Oh, and if you like to give input let us know on our wbepage, as our fans can tell we LISTEN. Over 8 features are in the game solely due to community feedback...

Rubbish. The total money generated by 4.5 million sales is 270 million. Reduce that by tax, retail charge, distribution and warehouse charges and you are close to the real figure. With $50 average worldwide (games are cheaper at some places) you can expect blizzard to get something like 110 million US$
